office a/c

I swear to god. Every office without fail I end up freezing, even on hot days. If I dress appropriate for the outside weather to not sweat my ass off in the car/during lunch/etc ... it means I'm freezing my ass off in the office.

Like today. It's 80+ degrees out, and yet I sit here in the office with my jacket on and wishing I wore long sleeves and heavy jeans.

I have the opposite problem

my boss is eternally cold and her new favorite side-kick is already wearing tank tops and shorts and flipflops to work because she is a whore, so they bond by saying to each other "ohmahgawd itissoooooooooooooocoold omgomgomg"

yeah that's normal. See today, I wore a short sleeve collared business appropriate shirt, and jean capris. I'm allowed to wear jeans, and I picked capris because I knew it would be hot today. I have regular shoes on not flip flops.

And I put on a pretty good "outdoor" coat on.

Still cold.

If your legs are concealed under a desk, bring a blanket.

My co-worker and I were getting fed up with how freakin' cold it was year-round (blasting the a/c in the summer and forgetting to turn on the heat during the winter) so we complained bitterly until we got little personal heaters put under our desks. Even if it's room temperature I'll put it on just because warm air = awesome.

Try complaining. It works, sometimes.

my girlfriend is the same way she's always cold it's a beaner thing.
I have similar issues but I'm from the midwest ftw so I can handle any weather xtreeemes.

but yeah, I've complained, in each office. The managers usually want it cranked. And most of them tend to be tipping the scales.

ugh. It's almost wrong to have a space heater on during the summer though, especially in San Diego.

The only way I love the AC cranked is if I'm snuggled under a blanket. It's pretty sweet coming in from the sweltering heat to an ice-box and it being SO COLD that you need something to warm you up.

If it's winter, cold air in the house just pisses me off. Go figure.

We're energy wise, so my office is never cold in the summer. But I keep a hoodie in my car because Starbucks and other coffee shops blast the A/C all summer and I'm miserable.

i wear a suit with a long sleeved shirt underneath and i'm still cold daily.

i wish i could have sympathy, but i don't because i've been there too often and so has everyone who has posted in this thread about how cold the office is. you have to dress for your office environment, not for what it is outside.

i'm pretty much never cold. not bragging or nothing. i've just lived in this very cold place for all my life, so i feel more comfortable when there's a bit of a chill. hot weather makes me go batty and i get really angry

i get cranky in both hot and cold temperatures.

our office sucks because while we can all maintain similar body temps, all the rooms have different temperatures. so while i can be in a skirt and a singlet and still be hot, the guys can be in full suits and still be cold. in winter its the opposite, guys in suits are warm but me in my layers (socks/boots/stockings/pants/bra/singlet/shirt/jumper/jacket) is cold! grrr. this is why we also have fans and heaters to use in addition to the a/c in case of extreme temperatures.

What is it with chicks and office air con? every single female in our office whinge and complain constantly about how 'cold' it is. everyone else including me just say 'WTF are you talking about??' it could be 40 degrees celcius outside and wed have the air con set to 25 or something, and they still complain.

yet my ex used to have her shower so hot that if i jumped in after id get 3rd degree burns within seconds.

i have terrible circulation so i think that makes me pretty numb to any coldness. we have a heater, but it's plugged in right next to my boss, the jammy cow. ha. our air conditioning consists of WINDOW + FAN when it is hot. i suffer from being too hot more so. i just holocaust the heat with the fan until my skin starts to feel like it is drying the fuck out.

i am not like this. my mother is though. i got so sick of her telling me to put on a jumper because seeing me in a singlet made her cold. too bad lady, i'm hot!

but bascially it is because girls have less warm office attire than men.
