I do it, and I like it because its dangerous.. so your kinda psyched and scared at the same time. I like the shotgun. Whenever I go to my uncles house we go out back and shoot at CD's with my aunt's shottie. My uncle had me try his 22 also, but I didnt care for that as much.
should firing a gun be scary? i haven't done it since the boy scouts, but my inclination is to say that if i'm scared while firing a gun, i'm probably doing it wrong

its not so much scary as that rush of energy because you know how dangerous they are. At least thats how I feel - you hear so much about accidents and things going on it is a BIT scary.
I have to agree with bob. All your attention should be focused on you and your surroundings. When your shooting for fun or sport it should not be dangerous. :D

I do, I love it. I don't own a gun but my old friends from school all shoot and a few of them are in the nra. yeah I know go figure. one of them is in basic trainign right to.
I go shooting with my buddies in the fall. I don't kill anything I just shoot empty beer cans from the night before and sometimes clay pigeons and pumpkins and shit. I've shot walther ppks, a colt, a beretta, a mini14 on semi auto (which fucking rocked), a kalashnikov (yes this too rocked), a single barrel 1o gauge shotgun and a double barreled shotgun. And an old bolt action WW2 gun. I'm a pretty good shot and I think I could fuck up some zombies if I had to.

i've shot a gun once, when i was 5 years old. my dad had to hold me so i didn't fly away from the kick. i really have no inclination to be around guns or to shoot them. i'd probably shoot myself if i saw a gun.

...with what?
with the gun
duh?
edit: if you want to be pedantic, i mean being in the same room as a gun. not walking down the street and seeing a gun on a cop or anything like that. i tend to get a bit funny around balconies or anything lethal.
oh
i read that to mean that you just can't stand to be near guns, like you wouldn't want to touch them or anything. but how could you shoot yourself without touching a gun?
by me reading your post wrong, that's how

i've only shot a hand gun once a couple of years ago, it was one hell of an adrenline rush. i'd love to go nuts on an old rusted out car with a Kalashnikov. fuck i can only imagine how much fun that'd be
the only gun i ever fired was a bolt action .22 (are there any other kinds of .22s? i don't know much, for an american). truthfully, i had more fun reloading the thing than actually shooting it. something about working the bolt, i dunno, it felt very satisfying
i hope that doesn't make me gay
only gun i ever fired
somethin bout talkin bout guns, iunno, grammar goes gone

I've been out to a friend's farm and shot a couple. a .22 and a .308 . the .308 kicked like a motherfucker. it was pretty cool, but I'm not craving a repeat session or anything.

My stepdad was president of the SA police pistol club, so ive grown up with them. Got given my first .22 rifle when i was 7. (or 8). Ended up having that .22 rifle, a 10 round semi auto .22, an M1 carbine, (my favourite by far), a Sig Sauer P226 9mm handgun, a Glock 9mm and a Glock 45. Did a bit of competitve handgun shooting, But after the Port arthur massacre and semi autos got banned i lost the semi auto 22 and the M1. then when they banned handguns i lost those too, so i'm back to the ol single shot 22. I havent touched it in years.

never. BUT I'VE BEEN IN A TANK FUCCKK YEEAAAHHH!!!
i think i would be good. i got some good aim. i'll getcha. right between the eyes. watch out.
my boyfriend's dad has a lot of guns. every now and then the police come round to check that he's not a nutbar.
when he was wee, he was out playing and a neighbour's little girl was messing with a toy gun going oooh, look at it! it's so fun! so ranald went inside, got his dad's shotgun or something (well done keeping it in a safe place, guys!), came back and was like "that aint a gun.. THIS is a gun!" hahahaha. i think he got a liiiittle bit of a telling off for that.
his grandfather has a walther muthafuckin' PPK.
I've yet to tick that box, but it is definitely on my list of things to do before I croak.
Not at people mind, just targets at a range.

I've shot the MK 19 (http://www.af.mil/news/airman/0104/mk-19.jpg) plenty of times. It's actually more than a "gun". It's an automatic grenade launcher which can shoot many types of grenades such as HE rounds to spike rounds.
Also, I've shot the M2 50 cal (http://efour4ever.com/m2_50cal.JPG), the M16/M203 (http://m203pi.com/M203PI_M203_on_M16.jpg) (in which I owned and then I switched to a smaller rifle to the M4 (http://www.m203grip.com/M4-Grip-Tactical-a.jpg). I also had a 9mm Sigsauer p226 strapped on my left thigh. (http://www.frano-zbrane.sk/images/Sigsauer/p226_sportkat_01.jpg) For close quarter, I had the Mossberg 590 12 guage (http://www.conjay.com/Mossberg_590_001.JPG) for only a few months till I've decided that the Benelli (http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/large/m4PGSynthetic12Ga.jpg) was such a smoother acting shotgun due to it's pistol grip and better sights. I've also used the M249 SAW (http://www.airsplat.com/images/m2491%5B1%5D.jpg) a couple times aw well.
The whole times I've used them, I had to but didn't necesarily enjoy to but it's what I was trained for.
Guns are only enjoyable if you're properly trained in the safety and handling of them in order not to hurt other people unless you intend to and this whole "guns are dangerous" bit is only true if the wrong person has it in their hands.

I was taught to fire .177 air rifles at fairs and Scouts and shit when I was pretty young, then my friend and his American redneck dad used to take me to the gun club with them and I picked up some skills with some pistols, semi-automatic .22s (I love that Ruger thing) and shotguns. Oh yeah and the classic .38 Winchester with the cool cocking mechanism.
When I was about 15, the boy and his dad bought a brand new shotgun and took me to the range to try it out with them, and I got the highest score out of the three of us. Put those damn Yanks in their place. :D
Anyway yeah, I love shooting guns.

Yeah, I've fired a few, not as many as eric, I'm not infantry you see, but enough.
Tomorrow we fire the 120mm Challenger 2 gun, should be great. I should definately have some video up of me firing the gun, aswell as the 7.62mm coax machine gun.

I keep asking around to see if anyone goes to shooting ranges because I want to learn.
Gotta be ready for the end of the world, riots, or zombies you know.

I've only shot rifles and BB guns. Which was fun until I actually killed something.
I put the rifles down for probably ten years or so until one day I was in some friends' back yard with their BB gun, pointing at a bird, saying there's no way I'll hit this -- I haven't shot in so long. Pulled the trigger and the little guy fell right out of the tree. But I hadn't pumped the chamber much, so the bird was still alive. So I'm feeling sick, pumping the chamber again, then shot it again. Still alive -- FUCK.
Took three shots to kill that thing. That was the last time I shot anything.

I love destroying things~Give me a target and I'll Fuck it up 6 ways from Sunday
I was in Cambodia at a gun/rocket launching/ grenade throwing range and noticed it was just me and my wife there after I fired off an M60 and she an M16. When it was time to pay the guy said he liked my shoes and I was stacked. Adidas are sharp but I put on my sell hat and said they were like wearing two bricks. Moral to the story: There are strength in numbers.
