my personal opinion of the board the way it is now and the way it's always been is that i think it's great how it has that plain 1997 feel to it. no special effects or nuthin. if you check most forums these days they'll have a width of like 200 pixels and all kinds of gradient effects and flashy icons and smilies covering half the screen.

why can't the background be silver like metal? also, why are the fonts on the knobs pixelated? and that "news" one looks like it was tacked on willy nilly. also, the five yellow rectangles have the same knob copied over...there's a little smudgy thing that makes it really obvious. and the tones of the metal don't match.

I guess it's mostly the pixelated fonts. I think the idea is cool and the logo is pretty alright (although the letters are a little wonky, the "b" in "boys" should be more straight up and down, it's slanty and awkward. if anything, it should lean to the left to follow the imagined axis of the "s" above it).

also, the blue of the message board border should match the tape with the arrows. and the turquoise tape parts should be more of a sea green. kinda 60's like.

actually, I think I could live with the black if all those other things were changed. :)

I think the main page looks good. the clickable buttons are great, they look awesome. and you made the "blog" font look debossed. I just think the bar at the top could be tighter with debossed fonts and a more muted shade of turquoise. really, I mean, when I pass over the turquoise and it becomes lighter, the whole thing just looks better, more old fashioned, more like actual keys. it's just that all the blues have the same value and it's kinda flat compared to the main page stuff.
