you love us, right?
i know you unselfishly put all those graphics at the top of the board. BUT. those make the board take a ridiculously long time to load, and it makes users have to scroll over to the side to read an entire post. i'm not changing my settings for one site, so i'll deal with scrolling. but the time it takes the pages to load is obnoxious, and then it finally loads, but with errors on the page.
take care of us.
<3
and sorry, i'm not going to take the 20 minutes i feel it would take to search to see if someone already made a similar thread, voiced the same complaint, etc.
pretend this is the beastieboys.com forum and close this thread. or give me the power to close them.
i agree. i think i read in the other thread, from one of you's, that users should just change their resolution to 1280 x 1024 to suit the site - no, the user shouldn't. i assume not every user here has 17+ inch sized monitors so why make resolutions that fricking small for a 15 inch monitor.
sorry, but this forum is so fucking ugly. colours are beyond wack. it looks very 5-second-creation like. black background is rank as well.

I'm not TPK, but FYI the header has nothing to do with the loading times...that's another issue which we're aware of and working on.

yeah...surely the header is cached, so once it's loaded once it wouldn't be a probs?
i think its all smashing!

I don't like it either that you have to use a scroller for every freakin' post to read it...
I wouldn't even know how to change my monitor to suit this bigger sized images...

it boggles the mind that there are still people using resolutions / monitors that are smaller than this site..

You are welcome to buy me a new, larger-screen laptop if you like.
Seriously, I also hate the scrolling. I didn't want to complain about it though, because I just figured well, if it's kind of a pain in the ass for me to hang out here, I probably will just hang out here less, and maybe that's not such a bad thing. Not that I don't love you all, but you know what I mean.
My monitor doesn't even support any screen resolutions higher than 1024 x 768 (y)
yeah like minton pointed out the header has nothing to do with the loading times nor the width of the board. the board itself is set to a width higher than 1024 which is resulting in that annoying horizontal scroll.
everything is being worked on though, and hopefully you will all be satisfied soon enough. (the black is still stayin though so you better start getting used to it).

i have a solution that makes everyone happy. let people choose themes. one with the current header and one with a simple bboys logo.
fyi, its fine for me. no scrolly.
i highly doubt we'll ever use two themes. and the header, still, has nothing to do with the width or the loading times. :)

Ill swap you mine? Mine is widescreen, which helps with the scrolly problem. But its also a bit shit otherwise, in that it has a tendency to over-heat.
This has pro's and con's. Pro's in that it could double as a grill.
Con's in that it might burn your house down.
Also, Youtube is shit on it. :(

i have to change my resolution to 1280 x 1024 for it to fit. anything less it still requires a scroll
not to mention that i never have my internet window at full screen

OK tpk and minton, you guys probably read my post in the beastieboys.com forum.
But to fix the scrolling thing, you could make the width a % right? And work on the header right?
and please fix the javascript thing. You should see how fast this board loads with no js.

It is slower to load but I accept they they are working on it. I also get the 'error on page' warning in the bottom left of my window everytime..... It doesn't seem to cause any problem but those things annoy me...

I don't at all mind the colour scheme, nor the header, but these forums now run so obscenely poorly that it's really a disincentive to come here. It's like being back on dial-up. Like, vintage 1994 dial-up.

yeah, but i think it's been like this a few times in the past, and they've always fixed it before. they say they're working on it, i believe 'em

As I think I said in the other thread, the loading issue hasn't got anything to do with the client side scripting...It's purely a server issue which we're working to have resolved.
