The hardcore was amazing man, Time For Livin was the song of the night for the Croc show! I cant wait to hear even more... twas an awesome weekend, 3 bboy shows in 3 days, the more I think about it, I think I perfered the Croc show over the Wookie show, but the Wookie was fuckin excellent as hell. The Mainstage gig was a big letdown, as it was practically a Gala show, with some crappy rap tunes thrown in there. I was expecting a full rap only setlist, whats the point of playing Root Down and Get It on the mainstage, if they purposely made a gig for that shit the day before. They could have done Jimmy James and Do It in their natural rap forms at least. Twas fun no matter what though. Amazing weekend.

Hey Paul,
Did the rest of the crowd think it was a big letdown as well? I mean, did the casual festival-goer think they were too similar?

I think these setlists are so good, hearing a hiphop set like the TT5B Tour would suck. They needed to switch it up like this, and they did.
I would take an instrumental/hardcore set w/ alittle hiphop thrown in any day.
Congrats Beasties!

Hey Paul,
Did the rest of the crowd think it was a big letdown as well? I mean, did the casual festival-goer think they were too similar?
No. The crowd was live and way into it up in my AIR-REH-AH. All of this weird "I'm disappointed the Beastie Boys decided to do what THEY wanted not what I wanted" shit is a little perplexing to me. I mean they just got through 3 game changing shows in 3 f'in days! The complaints seem to be that that the shows were too similar and that while Saturday (and Friday's, that I didn't get to see) were amazing, Sundays was a let down! Lets follow this logic for a moment shall we, the show was to similar to a show that was amazing, so it was a let down! OMFG. Look the pagent tours were pretty similar too but they also were all amazing, and just like that tour there are real differences from night to night and the uncovering of lost jems and now were getting reintrepretation of their catalogue. I'm sorry but people need to get over it and realize its not the band thats lacking, its them. These are game changing shows from a band that is on the top of its game musically. Growing pains hurt people, but keep up with it so your not left behind like those frat boys demanding fight for your right at shows. Don't mean to be too confrontational but it seemed to me that this undercurrent of discontent had to be called out for what it was- weird fan anger(fuckin Mike D called it) because the band is evolving... yet again. I can not tell you how excited I am to see them again. Plus whos more nostolgic than the boys, you know their gonna pull out the old school joints on the fall tour, just wait for it.
OK now I'm done.
