I agree. The navy blue slip on boat shoes are choice.

I also prefer my Pimp slides and green Crocs.

are these those hunks of rubber in those terrible colors?

Yeah, Crocs are the rubber shoes available in multiple colors. I lived at the beach when they came out so I got on the wagon early. They are ugly but great for yardwork, chillin, shower shoes at the gym, etc.

Boat shoes are an entirely different beast than Crocs.
Here is the Croc site.........http://www.crocs.com/home.jsp

Skra, take a look at this site for boat shoes. Don't get too excited and fall out of your chair.

cmute rhyme and Turd, the Crocs are definitely an aquired taste. My brother calls me a fag when I wear them............but he is kind of a hillbilly.
The guy that invented Crocs is rolling in cash. The kids love them and now they sell buttons (or for you Office Space people--Flair) to put in the holes. They also now have all terrain Crocs and shoes.

There's a guy at my gym that sports these, gives me the creeps .... he also looks like Fabio ... that also creeps me out!

precisely. I feel like a total scumbag when I wear them.

so wait, what's a boat shoe? those things in yeti's link (not the crocs one, the sperry topsider one) look like funny colored slip-ons, but i googled "boat shoes" and i got this (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=boat+shoes&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2), which look more formal and brown and are definitely not slip-ons (because i own a pair, and they do not slip-on)

Basically, any comfortable rubber sole shoe can be a boat shoe. The basic white or navy blue slip on shoe is the rouge boater shoes. Sperry Topsider makes all kinds of boat shoes from the snazzy to the very basic canvas.
