Watching The Jackal (the remake) and Richard Gere's Northern Irish accent is making me cringe.

Also noteworthy is Nick Nolte's dreadful Italian accent in Lorenzo's Oil. AAARGGGHHH!

sometimes when people try to do Cockney accents in films they sound semi-Australian.

Everyone in Alexander. Particularly Colin Farrell. Granted, it was a dismal piece of turd movie to begin with. But still.

bobby and i tried to watch some showtime original show where the family was in boston, and one son was a total mafia type, and the other was trying to get into politics (can't be bothered to google the name of it). anyway, the mom's fake irish accent killed the whole show for us. she's horrible.

Nicholas Cage's attempt at an Italian accent in "Captain Correli's Mandolin" is infamously bad....and Brad Pitt's shot a German lisp in "7 Years in Tibet" is a great laugh......(y)

Captain Correlli's Mandolin is the ONLY film I have ever had to stop watching because it was SO painful. Primarily because of that affront to the italian community. I have sat through god knows how much tripe in my life, but about 40minutes into that and I could take no more. Maybe on silent, it might have been tolerable but I daren't risk it.

Brotherhood.

Keanu Reeves in Bram Stokers Dracula was garbage. Same with Winnona Ryder's but Keanu's was 1000000000 times worse that its easy to forget about all the others.

The book was great so the insult is greater.....and to the Greeks....how can they have mi amor Penelope play Greek when clearly her beauty is so inherently derived de Madrid Espaņa.....:D

I adored the book until the last quarter section, when it's almost like Louis found out it was going to be made into a massive film and suddenly thought he have to come up with this really over the top, pukey romantic ending to satisfy the Hollywood money people. It ruined the book for me.

You know who can pull off accents?....Guy Pearce....Not a trace of his native tongue in L.A Confidential or Memento and in the Proposition he’s nails the Irish/Australian convict/outlaw stride….switch hitter!.....(y)

"Two days ago l saw a vehicle that could haul that tanker....you wanna get out of here you talk to me...."

But Mel should get credit for burying the Kangaroo annunciation for his portrayal of Yankee Airborne hardass Hal Moore in "When We Were Soldiers" and his interpretation of British Navy Upperclassman ala Fletcher Christian in "The Bounty"......(y)

Angelina Jolie and Rosario Dawson in Alexander. It was pretty embarassing. I don't recall Farrell (or Leto) having a specific accent in that piece of nothing "movie". I could be wrong though.

DiCaprio in Blood Diamond. at one point for some reason he starts into this weird Jamaican rude boy thing. pretty bad. much like the rest of the film really.

Word. The main hooligan guy in Green Street has the shittest London accent I've ever heard in my life. As if the film wasn't depressingly bad already I just wanted to smash his face every time he opened his mouth. (n)
