Best date movie evarrr. It's a little predictable/juvenile/Hollywood/formulaic at times, but I still laughed my bum off. Take your parents to see it with you.

We were going to go tonight, but then dinner took too long. It's the first movie I've even thought about seeing in a theater in two months.

Yeah, Paul Rudd finally decided to stop looking like human gravy. But I think the beard stole the show, personally. The beard and Leslie Mann Oh Mann.
Wow, mickill went away for a while and came back gay.
While you stayed gay the whole time.

I haven't been out to a movie since I was knocked up.
Oh no wait, that's not actually true, I did see 28 Weeks Later a couple weeks ago.
Don't take your parents to see that, people. Unless your parents are straight up zombie freaks, that is.

I have a mega crush on seth rogen, so I am super pumped to see this movie. it's funny because the posters for it have his face and ask "what if this guy got you pregnant?", and I say, "yes please!"
MEGA SUPER PUMPED

It would have been funnier to call me gay if I had said something stereotypically homosexual like "human gravy" or "the beard stole the show". Good effort though.

i thought "the beard stole the show" was a reference to the bet that the friends made to see if the guy could grow his beard for an entire year without cutting it...
so maybe actually watching the film that is being discussed helps in a conversation like this...

is it really funnier than 40 year old virgin?
Personally I think so.
Paul Rudd is delicious.

I think it's pretty close to being just as funny as 40 year old virgin, but I think those who have never experienced or been around anyone with who's gotten pregnant (and/or has kids) may not find it AS amusing.
The message left on the doctors phone had me laughing pretty hard, I was crying.
Paul Rudd. Yeah. So very nice to look at. And especially when he is playing with the kids, his attractiveness level shoots through the roof.
i thought 40 year-old was mildly entertaining and sorta cute, but not some legendary comedy classic like everyone is making it out to be. ditto this new flick, which looks more like a so-so, lacklustre comedy, that's being blown out of proportion. most comedies these days are nothing to write home about, ie american pie inspired lame teenage humour; nothing compared to the big lebowski or the first naked gun. although sascha baron cohen, the trailer park boys and jack black have their moments.

eh, parts of it were boring. my problem with films like this is that it's just "people being funny," and not much of a funny plot or engaging storyline. you sort of know what's going to happen. whereas, Hot Fuzz kept me literally on the edge of my seat guessing/laughing so hard i cried. i'd take good writing over jokes any day. but it was a decent flick.

So Judd Aptow is King Midas? Not quite.
I didn't LOL at the 40 yr old virgin. I did LOL at a couple of the jokes at Knocked Up. But, I really saw it for mrs. marsdaddy. It was either that or Spiderman 3 and I heard that movie sucked.
Knocked Up is formulaic.
That mickill "loved it" just shows that Canada is still the US of A's bitch.

for me, its not about LOLs... its about heart, pure heart, real characters, and relationships that we can all relate to...
but since we are on the topic of King Midas..
Apatow, who is 39, has written, directed and produced movies that have grossed nearly $700 million at the box office. The number moves closer to a billion once DVD proceeds are included. Now an Apatow comedy empire is under construction. Over the next year and a half, an Apatow-connected comedy will hit multiplexes at a rate of about one every three months. Grosses could surpass the G.N.P. of Djibouti.

Remember when National Lampoon actually made good movies back in the 80s? This is our generations version.
The great thing is that unlike Sandler's group of morons he keeps putting in his movies, (even though a Sandler/Apatow movie is in the works too) Apatow has surrounded himself with some amazing talent. Seriously, its like all my favorite writers and actors all work together on a regular basis.
From Paul Feig to Jenna Fischer, Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd, Jake Kasdan, Kristen Wiig, James Franco, Gary Cole, Ed Helms, John C. Reilly, Bill Hader, Micheal Cera, Jason Segel and now Kristen Bell, I'd probably get used to seeing them around for a long time in movies and TV.

I liked it. Heigl actually gets you over the she'd-never-stick-with-him hump about as well as one could, I think. The fact that she wasn't ultra-dynamic and charismatic made her even more believable -- sort of stuck in third-tier entertainmentland.
I smiled quite a bit and laughed a few times, which ain't bad. The woman who played Heigl's sorta-nemesis at the station got in some pretty damned funny stuff.
The prosthetic belly, whenever it was on display, would take me right out of the scene, though. It looked so fake, I kept thinking how awkward it would be as an actor to have to sit in a tub and stroke it as if something were actually happening there.
It was a little slow, but, again, that might work in its favor -- made things seem more human.
Definitely worth matinee money.

Those were some of the best parts. I prefer the more subtle humor in the movie over the blatant and obvious jokes.
