Yeah, you've got to shut your eyes for most of the Demi and Dane stuff, but there's still about 70 minutes of really really good, creepy, well-acted, well-done movie in there.

Man, did they blow it.

To some degree, Costner's got himself to blame, because I'm fairly sure that TIG is his production company. If, as a producer, he'd kept a little tighter reignh on things, this could've been a minor classic.

Waterworld was on while I was gettin ready for work this morn....I had an almost irrepressible urge to call in sick, get very stoned, and go rent the Postman....you know make a double feature of it......I was wondering about the Dane Cook casting.....

Oh, God. That was the nadir of all Demi's bad, bad scenes.

Good thing the thugs had tattoos and piercings so we knew they were the B-A-D G-U-Y-S.

Yeah, but the Brooks parts were really effective. It's a frew days later and I still get the creeps at some of it.

Dane Cook... well, at least he was making choices. Bad choices, but choices.

Can you imagine what a real actor could've done with that part? What Paul Bettany busy? Mark Ruffalo? Philip Seymour Hoffman?

Oh, that's another movie we could have seen this weekend, but mrs. marsdaddy didn't want to see a psycho flick. There's always next weekend.

I liked it, but there were a couple of large holes in the story. Mrs. marsdaddy found it too gorey.

Have you ever considered starting a movie review blog? I'd read it.

The set-up has real promise, though. It'd be kind of cool if they took another stab at it, so to speak.

For the life of me I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

Good job! (y)

No, I was serious. (y)

Ah. Well, thanks.

I used to have a review section on the website at my former job, but, yeah. Not any more. I don't have my own blog or website. No internet access at home, so it's not really feasible anymore.

Nice of you to say, though. (y)

Me too. Your taste is a little film-geeky (not in a bad way) for me sometimes but I think you're usually spot on. Except for Ocean's 12 over Ocean's 11. I still don't get that.

Ocean's 11 was pretty disappointing to me, because it really wasn't much at all. 12 was a complete throwaway -- the whole denouement basically meant that the last 60 minutes or so meant absolutely nothing, plot-wise; I liked the cheekiness of that. It was much looser and more charming, to me. Even still, I'm talking about the difference between, like, a 6.5/10 and a 6.8/10.

Really, I'd like to see the Ocean's movie where everyone just sits around in a diner and banters. That'd probably be more rewarding than anything else we've had so far. I loved the little character shit, like Damon trying to figure out code language for the gangster and reciting the lyrics to "Kashmir." That was gold.

That makes sense. I actually shouldn't talk about Ocean's 12, I was confused for the first half and then fell asleep.

It's not essential, by a long shot. Except maybe that Hagrid/Damon scene.

I'll probably try to watch it again at some point. Maybe when its on HBO or something. I love that whole cast, their chemistry is infectious. They have such a good time and it really shines through in the films. I don't usually watch interviews with people promoting their movies but I did with this one. Their jokes on each other crack me up.

I like your idea of a just sitting around trading banter, that would be awesome.

For what it's worth, Cheadle's accent seems to have improved greatly in the third movie.

I have no idea what the fuck he was doing with that.
