They ran a promo giving free tickets to the people with the biggest sign. I guess they documented it. The guy was pissed cause the people kept adding to their signs, battling, making them bigger and bigger. When they finished the contest, the contestants just balled up the paper and left it on the sidewalk.

I bought a CD the day it came out when I was in London once (I'm from Canada). It was double what I would have paid for it at home, but I decided not to care. It was The Mars Volta's "Frances the Mute" for 10 pounds. It sold/sells here for $10 and pounds were worth more than twice the Canadian dollar at the time.

I get your point, but I doubt that's an option for the majority on here. If indeed that 'Stop the Downloadin' clip was even directed at us, then it's feasible this poll can be used to show the band there's nothing to worry about. They found out about the Downloads through here (presumably), they can find out who the problematic downloaders are here, as well.

Of those who do say "Why bother when I've D/Led?", they should pretty much be considered a contingency that labels and artists just have to accept these days. I held out hope that the Beastie Boys would innovate and come up with an un-leakable album, but even they're not above it. It does suck, and I feel bad, but they should know we're just doing it because we're crazy.

Yeah, I got pissy about people downloading the shit, but in the end it was too much to resist. We're coming from a good place if we want to hear it. That's how much we dig the band. We're not the ones who intend to shortchange and diss them. Whoever leaked it should foot the bulk of the blame. So I know it's not necessarily cool to be hooking this thing up early, but I do it acknowledging how big of a hypocrite I am.
