If they're doing without Mixmaster, an electric version of I don't Know would be sweet. As well, a rendition of the FULL Get on the Mic would be nice. Whatever. They're cooking up some shit, I can tell.

Futterman's Rule is amazing. Pre-TMU it was my undisputed fav instrumental track. Now it's disputed, but still probably my fav.

I'd like to hear them bring back Prof. Booty and Finger Lickin' Good.

I think those would fit in nicely with the recent setlists.

With these live-band goings on, a rendition of Flowin Prose is a possibility. What do I know?

It's kinda slow and boring live.

By far, the most creative thing they did at the recent live shows was where the incorporated the original songs they used samples from, the way they did Jimmy James and Jimi Hendrix's Happy Birthday, and Jimmy Smith's Root Down.
I'd love to see them continue in that vein, and here's a couple I'd like to see them add to the repitoire.

Alphonse Mouzon - Funky Snakefoot (Shake Your Rump)
Dead Boys - Sonic Reducer (Open Letter to NYC)
Eagles - Those Shoes (High Plains Drifter)
Gene Harris - Put on Train (What Comes Around)
The Kentucky Colonels - Shuckin' the Corn (5 Piece Chicken Dinner)
Chic - Good Times

you get the idea...

Definitely down for 'Those shoes'. Banger, no doubt.

It's kinda slow and boring live.

not from what i've seen, i 've seen a clip from one of the tibetan freedom concerts and the crowd went pretty nuts moshing etc. when the beat kicked in , i'd just love to hear that PHAT beat on their speakers/system etc. such a ridiculously underrated song of theirs

OLTNYC/Sonic Reducer would be amazing... but OLTNYC is such a complete song in and off itself that it would be weird if in the middle of it they just went "Sonic Reducer! Ain't no user!", even weirder if they broke into a verse "Black, white, New York you make it happen.......Don't need no anyone, don't need no mom and dad..."

Kid Presentable

I've been meaning to ask: Why Namaste with vocals? The vocals are pretty much throwaway improvisations. The version on 'Sabotage' with only Hurricane saying "MCA, PLAY BABY!!" was much cooler.

06-07-2007, 10:59 PM
I just think it's a great album ender, and I think it would be a great concert closer to. Like a post-encore-encore. Like they come back out and play a couple more songs then the lights go out and the song kicks in and the lights come back (but dimmer than before) and MCA does his thing. The only thing is that it's probably not easy to play bass and do spoken word at the same time.

Yes...ATCQ toured with the Beasties on the HN tour. It wasn't an everynight thing, but they did perform it on occassion.

Yeah, I was really hoping that was going to be in the Gala set.

And I'll jump on the bandwagon for Prof. Booty, High Plains Drifter, and Hey Ladies.

I was also seriously jealous that they played Hello Brooklyn at the MSG shows. I want that bassline as my ringtone!
