The trailer looks pretty good, I think I'll catch it on the big screen. Directed by Sam Raimi. How does Josh Hartnett get to be in all the tough guy flicks these days (Sin City, Lucky # Slevin)?

Most vampire movies are laughable. I wouldn't get too excited.

not directed by Sam Raimi. executive produced by him.
which means someone gave him the jist of it and he said "sure, whatever".

OK, mostly I'm excited 'cause Steve Niles is a good comic book writer and I liked the books a lot.

Yeah -- David Slade directed it.
Raimi's credit probably isn't as big a joke as "Quentin Tarantino Presents," but, yeah.
I know of the artist who worked on the original comic. He's a really nice guy.

Ive thought for ages that vampires were played out. I just got so sick of seeing them, its lazy to use them.
Then, unfortunately, zombies have gotten kinda played out. So, maybe its time for me to give vampires another go.
It would be really nice though, if they just made up some fucking new type of monsters. Or give Wolfman his break.
This looks pretty impressive, the cinematography and all. And Melissa George from Home and Away is in it, and I was obsessed with her as a young lad.

Pirates vs ninjas (or zombies) is so played out, but it's been more than 15 years since I've seen any cool robots...
I want Domo-kun!

Ninja's are definitely not played out on the big screen. Maybe on the internet they are, but there should definitely be more films based on ninjas. At least one.
Pirates, well Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp ruined pirates. Ass Pirates is what they are.
I agree about robots. RoboCop was the last bad-ass robot. Maybe im forgetting some, but he's the only one that comes to mind.

Too bad Hitchhiker's Guide wasn't any good. :(
I liked the taxi robot thing in Total Recall, too. But, no -- not badasss.
