I know some of you dj a little and there's some bass players but, anyone play trombone? Cello? The male organ? skin flute? Triangle? Drums? Anything.

Eh, I just thought it would be cool to see who jams here and what you're influences are.

Me. I've been playing on keyboards since I was 12, never took lessons but it started getting good. Back then, I remember Axl F coming out and I could almost mimic it. I think I was 12 but can't be arsed to check it.

I've been playing keyboards all the way till I turned 19. Picked up a bass and one of the things that actually drove me to do anything with a bass was after watching Jerry Was a Racecar Driver for the first time. Yeah, Les Claypool was my idol back then but, he's still good.

I then started getting into fuzzy distortion and started playing Sabbath type riffs. In comparison, you could for certain tell that Geezer was becoming a huge bass influence to me.

Anyhow, I played bass for a while, put it down for a while and picked up a guitar instead with almost the same influences, band wise.

So, spill the beans you musicians.

Oh, and I believe SOP has one of the best stories but I aint tryin to get shown off my own thread, LOL.

Aww hell yeah on the harp. Some of the most traditional music is done on the harp and I'm talking music that was composed 2,000 years ago.

While I was in China, I was lucky to go to a bar in Macao and it was so peaceful and quiet with the greatest hint of music performed by some guy using a Konghou (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.chineseculture.net/musicmall/instruments/images/others/konghou.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.chineseculture.net/musicmall/instruments/htmls/others/konghou.htm&h=600&w=378&sz=30&hl=en&start=1&um=1&tbnid=PLKIp9aXkTzwvM:&tbnh=135&tbnw=85&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dchinese%2Bmusical%2Binstruments%26svn um%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official)

It's one of the most interesting instruments ever created.

I dedicate at least 3 hours to playing guitar every morning when I get off work. I'm just experimenting it since I'm new to it but, I'm at a level now where I could probably snatch up a bassist, drummer and vocalist and feel comfortable in getting some jams on wax.

It's all it takes is some time and for the most part, strong effort.

man that must be tiring, when I first started (and for about a year after) I couldn't go past an hour. It's so exhausting.

The usual suspects: guitar, bass, piano.

I'm teaching myself the tin whistle at the moment and am fairly crap at it. It's also my ambition to start learning the bagpipes this year, too.

And I own and can play the (bass) trombone, trumpet, and clarinet. Once upon a time I could also play bassoon.
