record release/listening parties?

Anyknow if there are some of these going down in anytown?? There was a record store around my area that held a record release listening party for "Hello Nasty" just before the record dropped on midnight. I'm guessing they had promotional material, etc to give out.

I'm thinking about setting up something like that this place I DJ at during the week, all Beastie sets....how would I get started??
