Gala Event Shows?

From the recent E-mail:
Tickets for some of our "regular" shows in the USA go on sale soon (see below for details) -- Tickets for our "gala event" shows will be going on sale later.

Does this mean these "Gala Event" shows are going to be additional shows in the already announced US cities, Philly, Boston, NYC, Denver, Santa Barbara, & Berkeley (in other words should those of us in those cities expect a Gala event to be announced)

or

Are these shows going to be in other, yet to be announced cities (like is NYC getting the regular show and Cincinati getting the Gala Event)

they've mentioned before that certain cities will get 2 shows, the norm and the gala. by the way they put it, it seemed like all the galas would be paired with a real show, though some cities would only get the norm.

that's a good question though. it's always easy to to mis-interpret what the hell they say. id assume there wouldn't be any one-off gala shows though. cause if they came through a town and did the gala and didnt deliver the classics, theyd piss off alot of people, not to mention not sell as many tickets (given the residents were aware that is was only instrument stuff).

This doesn't seem to be how its gonna go down as evidenced by the (momentary) leak that there will be a second (gala?!?) show in Boston with tix to go on sale next weekend. Their doin em all together it would seem

It would make a hell of a lot more sense if they did a Gala while they were in a city to do a regular.

A few years ago the Stones did something similar, they would play an outdoor stadium, an indoor arena, and a club venue in each city they toured. That way the fans could pick what type of show they wanted to see them perform. Cool idea.


I'd like to know so I know how to plan out my ticket purchasing on these pre-sales.

i'd shit my pants if they play cincinnati. i know it's just an example but i think they have played cincinnati 3 times since '87.
