In fact, they're on tour right now.

It feels strange that there's no coverage of the tour on this website, other than the occasional complaints about Ticketmaster.

It is strange that there are no fan accounts either. I guess after all there are not so many fans from Europe on the boards.

I wanted to post something myself but because I got so litlle sleep during the last 4 days I canīt force myself.:p

Exactly which band are you referring to? I know I can't wait for Quiet Riot to hit my town soon. :p

Well, there are many people reading the board, and I'll bet that many of them just saw a concert but there's no scheme to start threads in the proper section anymore. On the 2004 tour, JamesB used to get on right away and post the setlist and some funny story, and then lots of people would post comments re what they thought of the show. Or someone would post the review from the local paper. That stuff encouraged local fans who don't usually post here.

I've always been more of a user than a contributor so I'm just noting the difference and not doing anything about it. :p

I don't understand how the business side works, but I'd think that the band would benefit if fans got excited. I guess they don't need to worry about selling tickets to the upcoming shows given the small venues, and so it's not worth the effort? I knew when the front page went up with all the cool stuff on it that the band was unlikely to follow through with updated articles, but I would have expected some indication that they had played some shows since June 2.

I don't want this to sound bitchy because I'm not sniping. I just miss the one-time posts from local fans telling what the concert was like in their own words. And I miss JamesB. :(

I think it's unfair to compare the Pagent tour to this tour. I far prefer the less promoted, smaller venue tour, and I love the fact that they're digging deeper into their catalog too. It's aimed more toward us, the hardcore fan.

The Pagent was an awesome show, but it was a little too "big" if you get my drift.

BTW, are you seriously saying you want more newbies around here? Those people who came here to make three posts about their show rarely added anything of intrest.

Of course I'm not comparing the tour itself! There are good things about good and bad things about both kinds of tours. I've saw several pageant shows and three more Beasties concerts since that tour ended, and I'm ready to see something new (even if I'll miss things from the prior tours).

I was thrilled to see Beasties at a sold out MSG -- just seeing their name on the big sign delighted me. And I also went out of my way to see them in small venues. That's not the point. Whatever venues they've played, I've enjoyed hearing what other people thought about the concert. I'd rather hear from fans than read reviews from critics.

And yes, I enjoyed the threads where people in Japan would say what they thought. I loved the review in the blog from a fan in Portugal who saw Beasties for the first time.

If anyone saw them in Greece, please post!!!

BTW -- I've met some of those people who only post a few times and they're fans too. Some of them have been nice to me in real life. :)

Well, nothing's stopping them from contributing.

This tour is just getting underway, so we'll see how it's reflected on this MB. The band is trying to take a more proactive role this time with running the Blog themselves. Better or worse, it'll be different than the last tour, for sure.

Minto & TPK were present for a lot of the Pagent shows and also contributed to the photo forum for almost every show on that tour. They're still the admins...

The tour has been going on for a while. We've had about 7-8 shows and only one comment in the official tour blog. That doesn't seem too proactive, but it's their choice. It's not going to be fun if they don't enjoy doing it. I think they have good intentions. :p

Minton and tpk didn't follow most of the tour last time as I remember. Minton and tpk did follow the last bit -- the Australian shows. I'm not criticizing them, at all. As far as I know, they don't work for the band and their roles as admins don't seem to include the band's tour blog. JamesB worked for the band and we were lucky to have him as a link between us and the band. I realize that with the smaller upcoming shows the band probably doesn't want to repeat the format of the last tour, with a cameraman running about. I'm really just appreciating how nice that was and how much I got out of it.

(I'd like to clarify that I didn't realize that there had been an incident at the Greek show when I mentioned Greece. I'd still love to hear from people who were there, and mic-to-mic will apparently provide the forum for that.)

havent they only played five shows at three venues since they last posted from the Sasquatch experience?

they played a two night set in Lisbon, a two night set in Barcelona, and a shortened set last night in Greece...

with a show tonight and tomorrow in Turkey, thats alot of travel for one week... but I absolutely agree that it was nice to see updates from the admins almost every night there was a show during the Pageant tour...

everybody contributed- now it seems that the band will be more involved, but as we all know they do their own thing at their own pace... Im sure they will flood the tour blog with a week worth of insight and info in the following days...

I also agre with the Doc that previous contributers are sorely missed, and some have simply lost the appeal to post their experience here.

I was counting the three WA state shows. :) I wasn't sure how many there were in Portugal though.

After I see my first show of the tour, I'll probably quit following the board so closely and I'll quit bitching about the lack of info. :p

In my case I read a lot of posts of the board but I don't write a lot because my English ain't that good.
I guess this is the case for most of the European fans out there. So don't blame them. :)
Especially in Spain and Portugal: It's just too hot in those countries, they have better things to do than sitting in front of a computer. ;)

I'm really looking forward to the Southside Festival (Germany). My second BB concert, I hope this time with some hardcore songs. :)

If anyone saw them in Greece, please post!!!

I hope that you will report back to us on what you think of the concert.

Your English looks just fine. I can't write a complete sentence in German. :)

Doc, what I mean is that we haven been given updates of the WA shows...the tour blog and flickr account include the Croc shows and the two acts at the 'Squatch... so really they have only neglected to update the European part of this World Tour- five shows in seven days
