No sleep ’til Beasties!
The Brooklyn Paper

THIS JUST IN: The Beastie Boys will be playing the McCarren Pool in Williamsburg on Aug. 9!

The pioneering hip-hop trio is best known in these parts for the 1987 single, “No Sleep ’til Brooklyn” — and rapper Adam Yauch is a Brooklyn native who attended Brooklyn Friends School in Downtown Brooklyn and Edward R. Murrow High School in Midwood.

The surprise concert is in support of the Boys’ forthcoming album, “The Mix Up,” which brings to seven the number of records the band has made since its seminal first release, “License to Ill,” in 1986. Tickets were set to go on sale on Friday, June 15, at www.beastieboys.com.
