too lazy to look that far in depth into this....but....

my computer shit the bed recently, had to reformat, etc etc...the bitch part is is that the partition that contained all my MP3s is gone. No huge loss considering they're all on the Ipod. I transferred them over but now its in the gay apple file naming convention i.e. F00-F49 with files therein named FHDJ and the sort.

In Itunes/Winamp, they are recognized as the correct filenames and titles. Is there any easy way to resort/rename all that shit?

It's all a case of extracting the ID3 tags and what-not. I used to know how to do it... Soz.

put your whole library into wmp11. there's an option in wmp11 that changes the file names based on the ID3 tags. you can choose the naming scheme for the files(Track# - Track Title - Album - Artest are all options). i think it does it automatically. it should be a sinch of your ID3 tags are all correct. if it doesn't do it automatically you'll need to right click on each album and and choose update album info.

i am sure there is a program called musicbrainz that does cool stuff with mp3 tags, but i am unsure of whether this is useful information or not. i will leave it at that, and wish you all the best. all the best.

I considered musicbrainz for this. I may go that route, actually. Wonderful program it is.

I used Senuti for Mac. It made all the filenames correspondent to the ID3 tags.
