I never have done. I find some of it, you know, amusing. But most of my friends think it's the funniest stuff ever.

This is the latest one. I swear, this is being lauded as a work of comedic genius by my friends.

Some of it comes from just the inherent humor of an infinite loop of something inane. Sometimes it's the weird juxtaposition of stupid videogame/geek pop-culture with more mainstream movies.

Running gags and variation on themes (memes/fads) kind of makes a lot of the humor an inside joke. Either you take some time to get into it and you really like it, or you just don't. My roomie thinks it's dumb too...but then again he's a real douchebag.

dear god where did that come from? i said that ytmnd and adult swim were desperate and uncreative, not the people who like them. sheesh.
and yes, i "get" all the jokes, and recognize all the references.. but merely refering to some random internet or cultural phenomenom isn't funny.

saying "it's not funny to you because you just don't get it" is always a flimsy comeback, regardless, and it insinuates that the people who just think that these things are cheap, regurgitated, and self-celebratory aren't as supposedly "clever" as you. besides it's not very hard to make a joke when it's just you reusing one that's been making the rounds on the internet for a decade. merely bringing up some ancient pop culture reference that used to make people laugh and adding it to your lame ass joke won't make it funny.

well, to me at least. people can laugh at what they want; we all have different senses of humor... but saying that it's only unfunny to people who "don't get it" is a really stupid thing to say.
