When it came to the final episode, I only saw the very beginning and the very end. I know that the Smoking Man was annilated, but was Alex Krycek knocked off as well?

The best two X files episodes are the ones with the inbreds with the moms under the bed.
And the one with the dude that could stretch himself.

I don't remember any other X Files episodes although i'm pretty sure I have seen a lot.

I also watched the movie the other day on cable. It started out really good, but ended up being pretty shitty.

Not to split hairs or anything, but "X-Files" is science fiction, not fantasy.

i used to watch it religiously, but i stopped for no reason a season or two before it ended.

there's a local attorney who looks very much like david duchovny, were mr. duchovny to gain about 10 lbs. i can't help but stare, every time i see him, because it's uncanny.

perhaps i'm in my own x-files episode.

yeah that's the one that always comes to mind when thinking about the show. that was a good one. the stand-alone episodes were always better than the conspiracy ones, which just became more and more tedious as the series went on.

Difference: science fiction looks at the world as whole and towards the future. Fantasy tends to project itself into the past.

I was a big fan.....they used Richmond/Steveston and the Seymour Demonstartion forest as locations all the time, so,we felt a little like we owned the series....till David D pulled it back down to L.A and the show went to shit....Vancouver and area has a sinister, cloudy, damp feel alot of the time, lent itself to the show,fog,rain,cloud.......the movie actually stands up pretty well.....one early AM at a Ricky's restaruant David D sat with Chris Carter at a table opposit me and made eyes at my girl....I was powerless.....how to compete?....grinning bastard......

are you serious? the mythology was the best thing about that show. it featured the most diverse, interesting cast of complex characters, who all had their own motives and agendas. the cigarette-smoking man is probably one of the best tv villans of all time. alex krycek was the perfect cold-blooded rat bastard, and of course the syndicate and X who were badass.

the x-files went to shit after the movie and the fifth season, when production moved to los angeles, and executive producer chris carter ran out of ideas, and gave into the rabid middle-aged women fanbase. there was essentially no more research conducted into the paranormal and popular conspiracies, the mythology was hastily ended in poor fashion, and the show became a bullshit stand-alone soap-opera sitcom for middle-aged women who only wanted to see mulder and scully hook-up. robert patrick is a great actor, but he couldn't revive it because it became so embarrassingly bad. the writing was so astrocious, with the new mythology being nothing more than a blatant, cheesy t2 rip-off, with character development non-existent, and previous characters reduced to one-dimensional stereotypes, ie scully a blubbering weakling mess, cigarette-smoking man a cliched bad guy in the finale, no complexities/grappling with his conscious.

Once a girl has seen this, you most likely don't even want to compete... :D
