SO like are there going to be different version of the Mix Up like they did for Solid Gold Hits? Like I don't want to get my copy from Target and then hear that best buy Had like extra video's in their packaging ya know.

Also how bad ass would it be if they performed Looking Down The Barrel of a Gun in live band mode?

I also wouldn't mind hearing A live intro of sonic reducer before busting out into An Open Letter to New York.

This is exactly what I'm trying to find out...I find it quite peculiar that just a few days away from release, we still don't know anything.

Maybe a lyrical addition is now.

Nope. The vocal version is still in production and probably won't feature any of the Beasties. Just special guests.

I highly doubt if they've even started this. My guess is that it'll never happen.

I think you'll be pleasantly suprised then. I even know some of the people who are doing. Straight from the horses' mouths so to speak...

I second that. The vocal version is just pie in the sky talk, if you ask me.

Honestly, when I interviewed them they were very forthcoming about the vocal version - even going so far to name some of the artists who had completed their contribution and those in the process of it.

I do remember reading something to that effect...but whether those tracks will ever see the light of day remains to be seen.

I actually just got back from the local Best Buy, where I asked about whether or not the version they'll be selling next Tuesday will have any bonus discs etc. The employee looked on their inventory computer and he said that it'll just be the one disc, so there you go.
By the way, I stopped by one of the skate parks listed yesterday for the "Go Skateboarding Day" too. I am not much of a skater, but I went up to one of the guys running it and explained that I'd only heard of the event through th Beastie Boys web site. I asked what Beastie Boys related giveaways they were doing or just what the deal was tying the Beastie Boys into it. Anyway, the guy was happy to hear from a fan, as he was one also. He then walked me out to his car where he gave me some The Mix-Up promo posters and then said..."Ah man you know what? I'm gonna give you the ultimate Beastie Boys package. They gave us two of these (The Mix-Up cds) to play during the thing today, but we only need one of course, so here, you can have it." Then he handed me a new official copy of The Mix-Up. I was so happy and thankful and the guy, his name was Gabe by the way, could definnitely tell how happy I was since I probably came off like an overjoyed little kid in a candy store. I'll have to make him a disc of some live stuff since he says he's been a fan since the Pollywog Stew days. Suffice it to say, it was a good day! Oh and the cd I got was in packaging similar to Hello Nasty, just without a sectional fold-out thing. And yeah, just the one disc. Sounds great though!

And for the record, I'm still going to buy a copy on Tuesday.

Hi Parkey, Great to see someone else in Nottingham being a big fan as well. Seems anyone who I talk to here ( Nottingham ) they really don't share the same passion as me. Maybe you could hook me up with some in depth info? ;)
I'll understand if you can't though.

Are you saying the next next album or The Mix Up version with vocals won't be long before it's released?
