Mine was parachute day in the gym. We'd have a full parachute and we'd all hold the outside of the parachute, throw it up in the air and crawl inside of it so that it could slowly land on us, covering us.

Yeah, that was fun.

In fourth grade, we did this talent show sort of thing on a weekly basis. I liked that.

Tuesdays was the day when we gt to meet with our "gifted children" sponsor, so I pretty much lived for that. (y)

in the second grade... karate at lunch - i think i was the only kid taking karate lessons and i used to give karate classes in the schoolyard to my friends, like literally dojo style. till the day we were going to learn about nunchucks and i brought mine into school.

I liked anything art related. anything "hands on" science. and recess: playing four square or tetherball.

that was the best! thanks for reminding me.

I liked art projects the best cause that was what I was good at. I also looked forward to anything that involved learning about animals.

we used to have "fun day" at the end of the year where we just played games and stuff all day long.

each year it got worse though becuase they would replace the cool old toys like pogo sticks with stupid moon bouncers and crap like that

most memorably was the year i ended up falling in some game and scraped up both my knees and elbows really bad. that year the special art thing that we did was buttons with our picture on them. they were nice and gave me a bunch of balloons to cover up my gross bloodied up knees before i was sent home

I like art, especially making those rorschach (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rorschach_inkblot_test) looking paintings. Later, I enjoyed this one art class where we created one image with every imaginable tool including pencil, paints, charcoal, sculpture, and pottery. I made about 25 fire hydrants!

My Dad was a teacher and would flirt with the cafeteria lady enough to get us a freezer full of Chocolate Puddings

haha
did they force you to take flour tablets each morning? i/my stomach hated that shit

this, free style learning and math were the only things i hated about the grade school but it still was the best time of my life so far

The giant parachute was fun but the "earth ball (http://www.thewoodlandsassociations.org/images/virtusite/Earth%20Ball%203.jpg)" was where it was at.

Could there be anything better than getting that giant thing to completely flatten one of your classmates?

Answer: HELL NO!

If I could go back in time to grade school, I'd most like to play another game of "Suicide" or "Assball". We played that at every recess and lunch and it's how I developed my cannon of a right arm from childhood.

Based on the responses, this seems country-wide. So who was the douchebag who put this into the nationwide curriculum? "Okay, one Friday every two months, we'll have parachute day. Why? Because kids like to play with rainbow colored parachutes, it's a well-known fact, dammit. Shut up and do it."

My favorite day was Field Day, where we all did gym stuff outside in the sunshine at the end of the year. And then we got popsicles at the end of the day. Oh! And on holidays when we got to do word puzzles and eat candy.

Ugh, my grade school had something similar to that called the Cougar Mile, which I hated. I could never finish a mile without walking. I still can't. No matter how hard I've tried. One gym teacher thought I had asmtha, and I was so pissed off when she said it, but now I think she may be right. Damn teachers.

And yes, the parachute was fun.

Kickball.

Definitely.

I had freakish talent in the form of very strong legs.

It was the elementary equivalent of my Al Bundy Glory Days.

I was always chosen first, could nail the shit out of the ball, etc.

I was always chill with everyone, but there was this bully that pissed me off.

I managed, during an epic kickball battle, to kick a line drive that drilled the ball into his head and knocked him out momentarily. Bad to admit, yes, but I was happy with only getting to 2nd base during that play.

Jesus. Sorry. Didn't need to write the E True Hollywood Story.
Final answer: Kickball.
