She really wanted to try it so I gave her just a sip and she made this gag face and said, "my god, I don't see how you like this cause it's like you're punishing yourself".
Come to think of it, she's very correct but with it comes a pleasurable finish.
i've never taken shots of jameson before but it seems like nasty stuff. a friend of mine once got drunk enough to get to the point where he was just drinking it warm, straight out of the bottle...that night did not end well for him
i once did something similar, only it was with jim beam. that night did not end well for me, either. i woke up on a sidewalk
however, if you're looking for a pleasant way to use jameson, try making a shot of half jameson, half bailey's. it's like taking a shot of hot chocolate, it's delicious. it burns on the way down, but it tastes wonderful, so that's why i said it's like hot chocolate. you have to drink it right after you pour it though, or the bailey's will curdle. kind of like in a carbomb.

That's how I do it but I just sip on it in a sipping glass. Yeah, it's best to drink that stuff in moderation.

Yep, I remember that story. Rough nights man, and me sleeping on the damn train for 6 hours.

I'm sipping on some Monte Alban right now. At first it seemed harsh but now it's going down quite smoothly.
I'll have to wait till she gets home and offer her a sample to see if it's as brutal.

the real trick with jamesons is to not inhale for a second after you swallow, to let the alcohol fumes dissapate.
speaking of bailys, i highly, highly reccomend caramel bailys. that fits nicely with the hot chocolate analogy, because i thought the caramel bailys was about as delicious as chocolate milk, but that burned your tummy

i once did a shot of jameson's, and learned from that mistake.
i blame kinky friedman for even making me decide it was a good idea.

I hardly ever do shots of Jameson but when you buy two pints of Stella and a Jameson and the price is almost 30 bucks, I tend to just buy shots and minus the beer.
But I wish that I bought the beer to chase the first shot cause oh man, it's like gasoline going down.

A friend brought back some whiskey from Ireland years ago. I don't know what kind it was but I have never felt more pain. I took a shot of that and then had to drink some milk to cool the burning in my throat. It was horrible and I have never shot whiskey since.

Try introducing Franjelico to the mix. (y)

this is why I prefer burbon whiskey. I think it's smoother.
