So I went into the city today to buy the new album. I was amazed to see that it wasn't even up with the new releases! I thought, I'm 100% sure it's out on the 25th in the UK. So I went up to the urban section where all the other BB cd's are, and it was there! Where the hell is the promo for this album in the shops? HMV is meant to be the largest music store in the UK, YET NOT EVEN A SNIPET OF IT'S RELEASE!! It's the first time I've never known this before when BB bring out an album. I highly doubt this album will sell as well as any other they have done, and that's not because it's a bad album, far from it. I think it'll be bought by pure BB fans to start off with, then over the next few years it will pick up pace after many people hear of it, much like PB.

yep same here,

went to the local music stores and all of them had it hidden away. you would not have noticed it if you didnt know of it beforehand.

One store only had a handful put straight into the already released albums. you know the ones......the ones that just gather dust.

bit dissapointed, but what can you do.....

Frys (a big electronics store) is highlighting it in this week's ad, for what it's worth. $8.99.

But, come on. How much do you think the rack jobbers are going to push it? When was the last time a non-soundtrack, instrumental album was hyped in the mainstream?

I'm sure everyone has modest expectation about things, sales-wise. Not quite as modest as, say, RCA had with Metal Machine Music, but no one's expecting another LTI out of this.

You'd think that with a new CD release, they'd be all over the media doing appearances, or at least keeping their own website blog up to date. I'm not sure they're even stateside for their North America release.

How weird is that. Its almost like they don't care if the album sells 9 copies.

I like that it's not being promoted to death.
I like that the single isn't appearing on an episode of "The OC".
I like that the Beasties aren't going on TRL to promote it.
I like that it's not on the shelf next to the Faith Hill & Bon Jovi record.

It's not that kind of party.
This isn't the first time they've made an album for the real fans of their music.
