Does anyone know if the entire tour is instrumental only? I have tickets to the summerstage show in NYC and my friends and I want to know if they're actually going to rap...

I know that some of the shows on the tour page say Exclusive Instrumental Show...so i'm assuming that the other ones aren't?

the gala events (instrumental only shows) aren't strictly instrumental (as in without words), since the band throws in some hardcore in the mix, and perform some hip hop songs (do it, so what'cha want) using their instruments. and songs like sabotage and gratitude, of course.

check out the setlists (http://beastiemania.com/gigog/) from their shows so far. (& reviews here (http://www.mic-to-mic.blogspot.com/))

from a previous newsletter...

THE REGULAR SHOW is, well you know how we do, hip hop, hardcore, instrumental, weird hippie spaced out rock jams... all that type of stuff. These shows are for the average meathead, so you don't have to dress up, though we encourage you to.

THE GALA EVENTS will be in smaller spots, more exclusive, more intimate. this will be more like quality time, our time, just you and the band sitting by a fire on a tropical beach late at night being serenaded with love songs. these shows are for people that are into our weird stuff, so if you want to get weird together, this is your call. these shows will be based around the instruments. some songs will have vocals, others will be instrumental. BUT if you'd like to come to one of these shows, then dress to impress, wear a suit, a tie, a dress, a gown or whatever you feel dressed up in... AND PLEASE leave your cargo shorts, birkenstocks and t-shirts at home, this is not that kind of party.

i believe the central park summerstage show is a regular show...so you can expect rapping, songs like "intergalactic", "ch-check it out", "pass the mic", etc.

yes, they're actually going to rap. and there are two different shows: exclusive instrumental shows (gala events) and regular hip hop shows. i guess that's all that needed to be said really. :o

what really needs to be translated is that an "exclusive instrumental show" will be the band exclusively on their instruments.... the instruments make the music and the band sings and raps and dances around....

the regular shows will feature more of Mix Master Mike and will feature more of the classic songs with scratching and sampling...

the instrumental shows, however, WILL feature songs with lyrics, but they will be new arrangements of older hits, such as "Remote Control", "Do It", "Jimmy James" and "Live at PJs"
