How much storage do you have? What player do you have? Happy with it? Wish for something else?

I have the black 80GB video one and I <3 it. I used to have a Toshiba gigabeat which was clunky and annoying to use. So this is sweet relief in comparison.

Help me out, here -- I know nothing about the differences between "Nano" and "Zune" or anything.

Nothing. Nothing.

Well, a Zune is Microsoft's version of the iPod; I got mine free and it's alright. It's not as elegant as the iPod in terms of functionality, but it's still nice...

In all honestly, I like my Nano the best - but it holds fuck all.

How much of the 40 gig is filled up?

i'm getting one for my birthday; i have to choose between either the 40gb ipod, or the 8gb ipod nano. I think 8 gigs would be enough for all the music i tend to listen to, but having more storage space is always nice...is the physical size really that much of a difference?

The big iPods look like a brick compared to the Nanos. They really are elegant machines...

Out of my 40GB I've got roughly 20GB filled and a few thousand songs on it at 320kbps.

I'm assuming these things aren't expandable...?

Nope. What do you want to use it for? If you travel a lot then you need to decide whether you'd like it small and handy in terms of physical size or memory...

It's not for me, so I have to guess some stuff.

for my own purposes, i intend to use it while walking around, on the bus/train, studying at the library, and while at the gym (both for lifting and running). i guess i'm leaning towards the nano, would the 40gb really be too big for all that?

I have the 80 gb. Got it filled for about 55 gb, so there's space for even more stuff.

I could live with 30 though, 80 is really a lot. I wanted to go full out on this purchase though.

No - the 40GB isn't too big, you could use that at the gym etc. The Nano is well handy though; neat, small and easy to use.

Is 8 gig as big as the nanos go?

I figured there was a trade off.

Hmmm.....

I'll think about this. Thanks, folks. (y)

I've got a 30gb iPod Video.
I wish I had gotten a 60gb because it's almost full.
Be careful when you buy one though; the number of gb's is including the stuff Apple puts on it.
My 30gb can only hold about 27.75gb of stuff.

i've had the 20 gig ipod for quite a long time, and it's given me no problems. it was given to me by a friend at work, because he accidentally bought it, used, off ebay thinking it had video and it didn't. no idea how long someone used it before me, but still, it's given me no problems at all.
