BeastieBoys at Ejekt Fest - Athens

YO! Hello everybody...Just posting some news from the s**t that happened
during the live in Athens at the Ejekt Festival ...Well, in quick words some stupid kids - they call themselves "anarchists" ,my a$$! - stormed in the stadium area by breaking up the security barriers-no probs with that- but then vandalised everything and burned cars and beat up people...That happened while the Beasties where playing reeeeeeeaaaally great and had us all jumping and dancing...and while we were waiting for the encore and sabotage...the boys had to snick out the stage and after that the whole fest got canceled...we were expecting underworld to play next but this never happened as the organisers informed us that one of the members got injured by one of these kids...MAAAAAsssive dissapointment and HUUUUUge redicule of the cultural values and ethics(n)(n)(n)...and of course a BIG F**k Off to the Organisers-Cheaters-Thieves!!:mad::mad::.. Really curious to know what the beasties think of that....Thanx for all you played guys anyway...

I am really sorry to hear that your good time was spoiled by some idiots. It's always shitty when something like that happens.

However, I am not sure why you are angry with the organisers? Shouldn't your anger be directed at, erm, the idiots?

Or perhaps I am misunderstanding what you are trying to say.

what was about to happen and did nothing to prevent it...
they didnt even have an ambulance or a fire-brigade vehicle
by the entrnce or anywhere near!!
talking about amateurs here!!
forgot to mention that after they anounced that the rest
of the fest was cancelled there was noone of them around
to give any instructions on how to leave and exit the area!!
we all like sheeps followed someone who followed someone etc...
and the only way out was passing right next to burning cars
and other explosive situations!!!
people had been there with their kids you know!!
believe me it was a disgrace!!
and people here have already started moving things up
so we can claim our money back - although this will
never do anything to ease our pain,sadness and anger...wow really poetic this last bit...

anywayz...now you all got a better understanding of the situation - i hope..

I happen to be Greek, living in Athens and a big fan of the Beasties.... I have off course been to the concert, so....
.. While the concert had begun (Madness had already finished and the Beastie Boys had just started playing) a group of 300 people was trying to get in without a ticket.
- Usual thing here, it happens often and most of the times they manage to get inside.. I have seen many concerts this way..we don't always have money to pay the price of all these concerts!!..but anyway, this time I had paid (60 euros for madness, b.b, underworld is a LOT of money) cause i didn't want to miss the Beasties - obviously.. -
At this particular concert the security guys were really violent and also had dogs !?, machetes and things like that ...I strongly disapprove... a larger number of security would do, rather than these "measures" !! 300 persons tried to get in..the second time they managed to do that..Afterwards, 50 other people entered supplied with machetes and knives....they attacked the dressing rooms, put 2 fires and burned 6 of the festival's organizers cars.. and anyhow, to get through the ENTRANCE control, you had to pass through FOUR different narrow entrances, full of security ..which means that the security didn't manage however not to let this happen, even if the area was really restricted!
anyway, the organization company is a total shit, since they didnt manage to handle the situation and, furthermore, after everything happened, they TOTALLY DISAPPEARED.. you couldnt find a single person that was taking care of things.. of us!! all the crowd was going out and there was nobody to control the situation if something further had happened...ASSHOLES 60 euros and no "security" for us, uh?
we now know that these 50 persons that entered and became violent,were another security team that wasn't chosen to take the concert.... and so they tried to destroy it, to fight with the "chosen ones" or something like that.... its so ridiculous that i couldn't believe it.. for the first 5 days all kind of stories were heard, - also the one about the right-wing -thing of the groups - hilarious! - but the truth is the most ridiculous and sad one... that is the security companies thing..... what a shame what a shame
I so much would love to see them again, but I really doubt it... i'd have to fly to another country or something..................
I'd really like to tell them how many people really appreciate their music here...
