In case you want to read about a guy that thinks you care what Jenny thought (http://mic-to-mic.blogspot.com/2007/05/beastie-boys-mix-up-track-by-track.html) of each song . . .
"Do I hear a cowbell?" Cute stuff....

That's nice... sounds like you're part of the readership, then. . . . . . . . . . .. .
she's the manatee's daughter.
this is why mic to mic is hilarious:
There needs to be a special area for women at Beastie Boys show. We shouldn't have to endure injury to enjoy a show. And we shouldn't have to stand in the back of the venue because our bodies are smaller and have less muscle than men. Male Beastie Boys fans need to be told not be such fohkers and hurt women. Why? EVERY band gets crazy at the front. And your body is not smaller than most male bodies, miramanee.
Back to Poland...the shows in Poland mean a lot to Midzi. This is her home. Beastie Boys are her band. After all we've been through, we're not sure that we're going to survive these two final shows. The Heineken Opener Festival has a reputation for wild, young audiences. Midzi says a large number of people bought tickets to the festival before any of the bands were announced. She says people come to the festival to drink and be stupid. Then you've been warned and have a head's up. Maybe you should let the stupid people hug the rail and kill each other.
In an effort to give Midzi the experience she wants in Poland, I made a formal request to a Beastie Boys representative, asking for help. The person didn't even have the courtesy to respond. Whatever. It's really disappointing when we put all this effort to report on the European tour and no one from the Beastie Boys team values it. You're not a member of the Beastie Boys employee list, so why should they grant you and mic to mic anything special. This proves that all of the "selfless" writing for the fans is not at all for the fans - you are looking for a pat on the back and a press pass.

no, i quit reading this crap ... the cologne gala-event review was very wrong and negative.
and some days ago they wrote somethink like "european beastie boys concerts are not safe for women" because they got injured almost every show .... WTF?! ..... they better be fans of billy joel and visit his concerts.
well, this my point of view ... i enjoyed that page for some weeks, but not anymore.

miramanee just writes for the credit, goes to shows for the credit, and is responsible for fucking beastiemania up.
and i like midzi, but it's not cool of miramanee to make midzi look stupid like that. who gives a shit whose band they are? why does midzi deserve vip treatment? have i been a fan longer than both of them? probably, and i don't 'deserve' shit.

um . . . ok, i'm new here but:
respectfully,
why are you guys automatically laughing at a woman who got hurt? i hear the points you're making about how the pit is a rough place & you have to deal with that -- but i have read the blog & she was describing some violent people, not just typical mashing around that happens in pits. i think her point is that a line was crossed.
granted i wasn't there & i don't know her -- but i give her the benefit of the doubt. i don't just assume, oh, she's a whiner wanting special treatment. that's an assumption people make a lot about women who ask for help. just sayin.
plus the beastie boys have been vocal about asking fans to treat women with respect at concerts. (remember adrock's acceptance speech (http://www.angelfire.com/ny2/BeastieBoys/newswoodstockspeach.html)after the woodstock rapes (http://www.villagevoice.com/news/9944,rothman,9649,1.html)?) bands can have a huge impact (http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/beastieboys/articles/story/5918864/woodstock_organizers_answer_adrock)on their crowds. i think this blogger is simply asking for more of that.
i hope you can consider what i'm saying without assuming that i, too, must be some crazy bitch. :) thanks for reading.
and ps - what's up with the comment on her weight? boo.

this is exactly what i think, alikat. their posts are inconsiderate and rude, like always. it's very sad...she's just a nice lady who loves beastie boys....mic to mic should just not be brought up on this board anymore, since somebody always starts saying mean things about M and/or starts another argument.
i am glad that her & midzi enjoyed the shows (despite the rough times) and appreciate that they shared their experiences with us, with photos and everything! :-D
now the thread should be closed on that positive note.
