Hammerstein Ballroom pre-sale instant sell-out?

Wow, this sucks, I tried right at 10 am to get a ticket and ticketmaster says no tickets are available...anybody else have problems or did were you guys able to get tickets?

yes, I had to try like five times before they said there were any seats. finally got 2nd mezzanine GA. As long as I'm in is all I care about, and I'll find my way up to the front of the balcony, which in a venue like the hammerstein, should actually be close to the acoustic center, shit should sound tight as all hell! It's gonna be sick, y'all- 3 (intimate) shows in nyc in 3 days. I'm totally f'in stoked, shit will be legendary!

yeah, no luck for me either, I'm on vacation & in a different time zone and by the time I realized "local time" probably means local to the venue and not local to where I am (yeah, sometimes I'm not too bright), too late :(

I'd keep trying guys, I remember this happening a few weeks ago with another presale and people saying that they got theirs like 20 minutes later an hour and a half later- they might be staggering the relase of tickets (why I don't know). Maybe. I just know if I was in your position I would not be stopping, I remember thinking like the fourth time I had to press "go back and look for tickets" I thought ok, hunker down now you could be here for a while! I guess I got lucky something poped right up. Good luck and I hope you make it in to the show.

Was in straight up at 10A too & no dice. Tried for 15 minutes for shits because of fucked up ticketmaster problems but still no luck. I think it must have had to do with scalper issues. If you notice where you put the number of tix in - it went up to like 30 & was supposed to only be 8 which is still a lot. Another huge ticketmaster fuck up & of course we get it in the ass...

I agree, I wish only the fans knew the presale passwords...it feels like crud knowing that idiot scalpers got tickets before most of the fans...and on the page it allowed purchase of up to 50 tickets! this is ridiculous

I talked to someone at TM and they said if anyone went over the 8 ticket limit that there order would be cancelled without notice...

I tried twice ... on the 2nd try I got Balcony seats. So I took one for now just to be safe. I prefer the floor at the Hammerstein personally.

true, but a bunch of scalpers getting the newsletters is still nothing compared with the fact that any person on planet earth can now google the password from a whole universe of loud-mouth bloggers & posters.

sorry to rant but i'm just feeling bitter. :( being a beasties fan ain't always easy ... in the 80's it was frat boys smacking my ass, now it's bloggers fucking up my presale!! at least the frat boys were in the room to be smacked back.

10:04 am i got 1 floor ticket for gala at hammerstein ballroom in NY ... i tried 7 times .... don´t give up!!!

I had a GA ticket, logged in, picked my credit card then all of a sudden was back at the page you put in the verification code .. and no ticket =o(

Call them....call your local ticetmaster and when the automated lady asks you what event...just say customer service...they may have your info on file...that happened to me with Phish tickets...and they had a record that I had tix reserved and I got them...

Something needs to change. There has to be a better way to make sure the tickets get to the fans rather than the scalpers. I'm not going to pay $100+ for a ticket to see the B-Boys. They're worth it but, I have to pay rent in this city.
To see them available on ebay, stubhub and the like, within hours of them getting sold, angers me like nothing has in some time.
Why would there be an 8 ticket limit to a show that has limited seating already? Four tickets should have been the limit, no more. If there is a limit than why, during the presale and the beginning of the public sale, was there an option to buy as many as 50 tickets? Will they be allowed to keep all 50 and if not how and when will they get release back to the public?
Something needs to be done about the way things went.

I noticed when I first started trying it said there was an 8 ticket limit, but you could choose up to 30-something....then at 20 after 10...it changed to a 6 ticket limit....

I agree....this is disgusting. The worse thing is that there will actually be empty seats in Hammerstein because people won't pay that much money...and those are all seats that we the fans deserve to be sitting in.

Congrats to everyone who got tickets...I hope you have a blast...I got Central Park tickets and am coming in from Cleveland for the show...the 2 ticket limit for that show was perfect....they should of kept it that way...

Yes, Ticketmaster is an evil monopoly. And guess what else they are: A sanctioned scalper! Make it legal & call it a "convenience fee" -- selling above face value is scalping.

At the end of the day we threw my hands up and gave a somewhat larger "convenience fee" to a gentleman on Ebay. His customer service exceeded that of Ticketmaster's by miles, and he saved our precious time.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. Sigh.

That happened to me as well and telling me I timed out when I would put it in right away.
I DID however open more than one tab/window at a time because my computer was running so slow as soon as 9:59 hit. I never selected tickets in two tabs, but I thought that was why I was maybe having problems.

And as for there being the option to get 50 tickets, in the past there has been an option to buy more than the limit. I wanted to test it out so I would choose a number over the limit. The next screen it would say that there is a limit and I'd have to go back and reselect the number of tickets. So I don't think anyone got 50 tickets in one shot.

Also in the past, if you ordered more than the limited number of tickets, they (TM) would either cancel what ever was over OR cancel your entire order with NO NOTICE. It does say that loud and clear on the page you choose how many tickets though

If I wanted to go to an NYC gig on this tour, I'd pay a scalper, just like I did in 2004. There are a lot of shitty bands getting $150 a ticket face price and Beasties are worth it -- especially given the lovely small venues they're playing.

they could always do a lottery....they give you all the dates, and then you choose what shows you want to go to and how many tickets you need....you get 72 hours to submit your order...then before tickets go on sale to the public, you find out if your order happened to be filled...if not then you get a 2nd chance....just an idea...if there were duplicate addresses in the orders or CC numbers, etc...the order would be cancelled.

Try it again in a couple days. The NYers Against Violence show in 2001 was sold out at Hammerstein, but I decided to try for tickets a few days after it sold out - some of the credit card purchases had bounced and I was able to get two floor tickets. Great show. :)

So i looked on stubhub today, and these tickets are dropping...they are selling noe between 69 and 72 bucks apiece....which is only 5-8 bucks more then what I paid for ticketmaster including the service charge...

just want to give a heads up....I know that scalping sucks....but when it's literally only a few bucks more....why not?
