sould there be one thread? is there one?
no real shockers from me, i can listen to and enjoy it up to track 8, which I think lets down the record a little. the melee i don't feel a whole heap, either, but it's passable. dramstically different is a little nowhere for me (for me, i'm saying) but i really dig the cousin of death. they should open with that.
b for my name i can clap and whistle at work, which i seem to be doing all the time. i love 14th street break. it's just really good for me (for me). suco de tangerina has this organ effect that sounds like the autobots computer Teletran One using its dying moments to hum a tune. i like that part. gala and worm are a good combo, i like most of the album, blah blah blah.
there's a snippet in one of my wife's gossip mags about this record, saying it's a huge risk but they've always taken risks, and so forth. i feel horrible that a gossip magazine put it into perspective for me. kudos for taking such a risk. the end result is far beyond the mere contents of the album.

Well, it is selling on iTunes (#4 so far), and appears to be going out of stores in my area...
I love the drums in Dramastically Different when the bass is pumped up in the car, so go figure. The Melee is hot, too.

For me Dramastically Different has a completely different vibe. It's just a relaxing mellow joint. Definitely a standout track for me.
Off The Grid is my favorite, although I think they could have punched it up a couple of more notches. Which I think they are doing live.
I just haven't been able to grasp the Tangerine or Gala Event tracks yet...

the melee is off the hook, period. definitely the most original and just fucking wicked track on there (for me). cousin of death rips as well. i guess the only tracks that haven't grabbed me immensely yet are dramastically different, 14th st. break, and kangaroo rat, but even those i've been coming around on lately. it's weird, cause even the songs that don't pop right off for me, i still find interesting and intriguing in their own kind of way.

Is it just my mind playing tricks on me or is that unreleased "Biscuits & Butter" track the best of them all?

After having the album a few days, I must say it has grown on me quite a bit. At first it was weird having new material with no lyrics, but now I feel the songs are layered and deep enough to stand on their own (although, I would LOVE to hear a remixed version of the album with lyrics...especially on tracks like 14th Street Break and Off the Grid).
On first listen, B for my name, 14th Street Break, Freaky Hijiki, Off the Grid, and The Melee stood out...now there really isn't a track I dislike. When I listen to the allbum as a whole, it tends to flow well from track to track and the songs kinda glide into one another. I especially enjoy listening to it while driving at night quite fast on the highway...with the bass turned up especially loud.

it's ok.
if they keep releasing albums every couple years (1 to 2) i'm fine with projects like tmu.
if i have to do with tmu for 5+ years, i'm not so fine with it.

couldn't agree more. i don't wanna wait a long time... even though after TT5B i could care less... now that the beasties are back to what i love, i'm really excited for the future.

You said it, brother! "Biscuits & Butter" is good like John Bugarosecock! This is the Sabotage of the damn record no fuckin' doubt! I love the chatter (who said the record doesn't have vocals) on this one. "...some dumb shit." "Fuck it." With all the "shits" and "fucks" I'm wondering why Tipper's damn sticker wasn't required. How many "shits" and "fucks" does it take to get stickered?
Still can't do "B for My Name". Breakdown works, but ... uh ... no. "14th Street Break" gots a funkey breakdown. "Tangerina" is juicy. "Electric Worm" is no doubt the right track to pick for a single. Kids'll think it's Matisyahu or something. "Off the Grid" ain't feelin' me."The Rat Cage" is good people. Can't remember "The Mele" or "or "Dramastically Different". "The Cousin of Death" was my "Biscuits & Butter" until "Biscuits & Butter" came along. Don't care for "Freaky Hijiki". Too fuckin' salty. "Gala Event" is a good thing.
I'm also starting to realize what I like are the breakdowns in EVERY song. Well, maybe not EVERY song; I haven't done a track-by-track checklist, but that's what I'm sayin'.
I'm really feeling the texture. It's like the grooves of wood paneling. That's all.
I'm wondering if it was recorded analogly [sp?]. If so, that vinyl is gonna warp right on the fuckin' platter like a light crepe.
Rolling papers woulda given me that "Fresh, My Girl Just Rimmed My Ass(R)" feeling, so I think I'll put my own up in there.

Okay, dude. Nice find, but what gossip mag is it? Name, please! There's no shame in gossip mags; they're fried greesey goodness.
