I think I only have three in my cabinet. The oldest one is about gone after, um, five or six years. It's something whiskey-colored by Perry Ellis. Then Kenneth Cole Reaction (?), then the most embarrassingly-bottled and -named but really great smelling Le Male, by somebody. Yves St. Laurent maybe? I dunno.

Old Spice gets kind of a bad rap. I don't know about this arctic smell, but Old Spice itself smells okay. People who use it tend to use just waaaaaayyy too much of it.

I don't know what mine is called. It smells lightly of oranges and suntan lotion and reminds me of being at the beach, and it's not strong at all so it's nice.
Oh, and Bath & Body Works Moonlight Path body spray...which when looking for a picture on their website I've found out that they've discontinued the spray. :(

Ah, Hugo. The first guy I ever had a serious crush on wore Hugo and one day he's like "You should get Hugo for Women" so I did and wore it for an entire year of high school. Brings back memories whenever I smell either.

I'm dating a nectar nazi who works at Macy's', these smell great....I actually like the Eau De Cartier Cologne, it's fantastic. The other are in descending order of likeness, with the Fahrenheit being the one the cosmetic counter girls say a guy will most likely attract females wearing it.

I used to wear a lot of Tommy Hilfiger, Joop and Gaultier but the latter 2 were always overpowering and suffocating if I slapped a lot on.
So far this year I've been wearing Caroline Herrera 212 for men and Calvin Klein Crave.

Is that Britney's fragrance? It looks girly and I can see you being ashamed of admitting it.
But yeah, perfumes smell different on everyone because of the pheromones you naturally produce. They have this pheromone-responsive stuff that I tried one time that smells different for every person, depending on their chemistry. It smelled flowery for me, it smelled musky and spicy on my guy friend. Apparently it smells really melon-y when girls getting close to their periods put it on.

depends on the strength of the perfume you're wearing, too. Eau de toilette is the weakest, then it's eau de parfum and the strongest is pure perfume. so with pure perfume you only need a little dab on either side of your neck because it has the highest alcohol content. people who wear eau de toilette tend to spray a ton of the stuff on them because it has the lowest alcohol content.
if you're spraying a ton of perfume on yourself then please remember to properly moisturise your neck and chest before using your perfume, the skin on your neck is very delicate. just look at the old women walking around with dry, crepey necks and chests, evidence of the years of damage they've done to themselves by spraying on tons of perfume
i can easily smell it on others but i have 100% alcohol perfumes even and still cant smell it on me!
and i sometimes spray that stuff on my skin and hairs but the strong perfumes only go on my clothes since my skin is very sensitive

smell is a funny thing. there are situations where a smell can bring back a flood of memories you have locked up away in your head. some can even make me go weak at the knees the connotations i have with them. so i always found it important to be associated with a smell so people can be like "oh yeah, that smells of CLAIRE", and i have apparently been successful ; )
i have been wearing this since i was about 15. this is my signature scent. it is very rich and some would say a bit sweet, very evening-y, but i love it. if i give a friend a hug who i haven't seen in a long time and i am wearing this, they will comment on it:
http://www.comanalysis.ch/Images/PUBLICATIONS/PUBLICATION36/Diorhypnoticgd.jpg

cosmetic advertising is also a pretty curiously interesting thing.

this is such a great quote!
i wore a perfume in high school that was very expensive for a "kid" to wear and everyone knew it was me, since no one else really had it.
this thread has actually brought back many memories by seeing what all of you wear and reminding me of times i wore or have smelled that perfume at great events. i love coming across a scent by accident, then being overwhelmed by the memories.

oh my gosh, i know. if i smell vanilla lipsmackers body spray (shut up) i'm back in 6th grade with a huge crush on Raymond (i was the student body vice president, he was the president. siiiiigh). if i smell this old teenie perfume i used to wear - i can't even remember the name - i'm back in 8th grade with a broken heart over James. :( if i smell a really cheap girlie perfume that i got at hot topic or miller's outpost years ago, i'm back at the Glasshouse giggling with my friends outside between bands. if i smell Catalyst for men i'm lounging by the pool with Jeremy, and if i smell Cool Water for men i'm thinking of breaking up with Kenny, haha.

like I said, on me it smells really great I guess. So I keep it. Though I try to not tell people what it is when they ask me haha. Same with the pokemon ball one :p I get compliments on that one as well. I want to find something new but they have been tried and true for over the past year. I, like Claire, like that I leave a lasting impression with the scent I wear. I once got a text message "I can smell you on my clothes and it's so unfair that I cannot see you right now"

Nina by Nina Ricci:

deep apply scent but not too sweet. I wear it mostly in the winter or on evenings out.
Fruits & Passion's Pink:
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jhwl0m2h33w/R6aSMBQ5bZI/AAAAAAAABbI/8PypGXtP6sU/s400/PinkEaudetoilette.jpg
errryday type wear. yeah yeah it's called "pink" but it's perfectly light and delicious. It's a Canadian brand too.
I also wear their scent "human" for the gym and such because it's quite a unisex neutral smell:
http://ca.fruits-passion.com/images/produits/human8_b.jpg
my fiance has the men's version, but I'll wear both because they are quite similar.
I've been wearing this on my wrists lately and getting compliments:
http://www.naturalfactors.com/images/PIM/NF/Products/904__1__Feature.png
it's a blend of:
Lavender – relieves tension, depression, and exhaustion, and enhances sleep
Bergamot – combats anxiety and nervous tension
Frankincense – calms breathing and restores relaxation
Spearmint – relieves stress, fatigue, and nervousness
Fuck yeah, frankincense!
I've also been using a lavendar blend on all my bedding at night and I almost can't sleep without it now. it's just so darn comforting :)
