...this isn't exactly a "cooking" thread or asking for recipes, but if someone wants to move it, I'll understand.
I'm just wondering, in general, if anyone's ever eaten goat before. I was in my corner grocery yesterday looking at fish and they had a sale on goat meat.
Sounds stringy, but who knows? I like lamb more often than not.
Goat?

no
When I was visiting my Grandparents in Pakistan we got a goat..I was in charge of feeding it. So I did and he became my little buddy. About two days later he wasn't there anymore when I went to feed him.....you know where this is going.
I was sad for a little bit...but got over it quickly. I was maybe around 7 or 8 at the time.
I've eaten goat plenty of times, but was pretty young when I did. If I remember correctly it was pretty good if it was done right. I've never tried making anything with it. Wouldn't even know where to begin.

Gracias.
I'm not averse to the idea or anything -- my stomach doesn't kick like if I had seen frozen packages of dog or something -- just curious to know what the basic idea is.
For some reason, I'm thinking cinnamon and lime. No idea why.

...what would you have thought it was? Lamb? Pork?
Don't know why I'm pursuing this -- I probably wouldn't buy any. But if it's really good, I could grill some for the hell of it.

my grandma had a goat for the purpose of eating weeds on the property. he was dirty and mean and really liked to eat wild onions. this in turn lead to him smelling very strongly of onions all the time. because of that goat, i would never eat goat. they are full of meanness and onion.
she got rid of him cause he liked to butt people in the shin. fucking goat.

Why yes I have. In fact, the first time I've had goat was in the Kuwait Freedom Towers. Not bad, only the fact that it was brains kinda made me shiver.
Over time, my wife and I have ordered fresh goat meat from local markets in our area and they cooked it to our satisfaction. I will be planning a non business trip to go there shortly. Only for the food. I've got so many good friends there that can give us the hook up for some grilled goat.
