Hells yeah. according to an interview mic2mic dug up from wherever the bboys played on the 4th of july, mike told the interviewer, "We have no plans on stopping. We will record a new record next fall." that now confirms what horovitz said in that other interview.

They've definitely got something up their sleeve. It seems like they already know what they want to do for the next record, you know? Either that or they are just super psyched to get back into the studio and fuck around. But dang, not only are they getting back in the studio uncharacteristically early, but they're doing it immediately following tour. Now that's enthusiasm.(y)

this is really good. im thinking they have their ideas already. i cant see them shedding the suits just yet.

if they do change up the look, my first thought is that they go with the high-roller vegas look, up the ante for the gala shows. that or a crossing guard motif if they really wanna shake it up. i dont believe they've explored the reflective apparel world yet

let the speculation begin.

Mike D once called PB and HN 'collective records' I hope they can make

another 'collective record' with some new flavor in there. I love Sneaking out

of the hospital, anything with live instruments and MMM in there too. I can't

believe they're gonna go back into the studio so soon but it's a fantastic

thing. I'm so HAPPY right now ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Probably next year's fall, since they said after the tour.
Still, that's pretty fast for a new album from the Beastie Boys/the kings of hiatus.
:p

let's remember though that they were in the studio as early as 2002 for 5 Boroughs.

I wouldn't expect a new album before 2009. But it is nice to hear that they're not just gonna vanish.

if they wait until 2010 they will have spanned 4 decades...

thats longevity on a Wille Nelson/Bob Dyaln type level

More like the second installment of LTI WITH LYRICS and real INSTRUMENTS!

If this is true, I have absolutely no problem with "The Mix Up". The only concern I had about an all instrumental album was that it might be another 2-3 years before we get a new Beasties album with lyrics, which disappointed me.

If true, this is fantastic.

I love them. They bring a whole new meaning to the phrase "You cant, wont and dont stop." (y)

I'm a bit confused about the timing that D is talking about (either this fall or next fall), but either way, great news!

Great news. I highly doubt it will be another instrumental album, thing is, will they be doing the vocals? past post have mentioned guest vocals for the next album!

one can only assume they're referring to this coming fall. horovitz said "after tour" and mike said "in the fall", not "next fall". the way this tour's shaping up, if you look at the pattern, it seems like the u.s. tour is only going to be during the month of august. i dont see them going back and forth from the east and west coasts after the current string. perhaps the label gave them a limited touring budget considering the album was under the radar.

new album's gonna be classic i think. they've gotten their experimental rocks off at this point. im sure they're ready to make another bender.

Considering they have been playing songs like 'Do It', 'Sure Shot', and 'Jimmy James' with their instruments I have a feeling the next album might be going in that direction. You know, playing as a band but rhyming as they're playing. Just a thought. Sasquatch blew my mind, and it appeared like they were having a ton of fun.
