About 85% of Australia's weed comes from South Australia. This is majorly because in 1986 it was decriminalised, and the industry flourished!! In Sydney, there are less than 5 hydroponic shops. In Adelaide, there are 116. Nowadays, if you get caught on the train using a concession ticket instead of a full fare ticket, the fine you cop is twice as much than if you get caught with upto 2 ounces of weed on you. Up til 3 years ago you could grow upto 10 plants at your house and only get a $50 fine.

They have gotten a little harsher since then, but even just 2 months ago a friend of mine got done after an undercover sting with 8 pounds of dried bud, 3 grow houses he rented purely for growing pot, and $30000. He didn't even have to do any jail time. He got a $1500 fine and put on a 2 year good behaviour bond. Which is fuck all, seeing as even having 4 plants in a simple setup can net you around $18,000 every 3 months. My friend had all up probably about 40 plants.

So pretty much 1 house on every street in Adelaide has a hydro setup. This being the case it is also extraordinarily cheap, about a 1/3 the price of the other states. The other state's smokers mix bud with tobacco, but that is pretty much unheard of here. We smoke it all straight.

With all these things to consider its not difficult to believe that we have some pretty fuckin awesome bud over here.
