Pigeons vs. Seagulls

I think pigeons are nastier, just because they're mainly city birds. At least seagulls are on the beach, which is a natural environment and probably somewhat cleaner.

not that it fits with my age but i like to feed pigeons and ducks (we dont have seagulls here)

they are cute and rats (even flying ones) are cool too

they both almost bother me equally.

Once a flock of seagulls (lolz) were attacking my food while at the beach so I threw (with pretty impressive force) a nerf football at them just to get them to fly away. I ended up pelting one pretty hard; I heard the loud THUMP and I felt kinda bad.

I sued to hang out with this girl who told me she used to toss Alka-Seltzer to seagulls. Presumably the gulls would swoop down, eat them, then blow up after.

I believed her, and it made me so sick that someone would do such a thing that I never hung out with her again.

pigeons don't swoop down at you and attack. seagulls do. I hate those dive bombing fuckers. pigeons usually just waddle around eating garbage and don't try to steal doritos right out of your hand.

the pigeon problem in my city was so bad a few years back that the city put together a special commission to try to alleviate it. one idea that was thrown around was feeding the birds birth control pills, but that was too expensive. finally the city manager (or something) volunteered to round up the pigeons in garbage bags and put the end of the bag over the exhaust pipe of his van (while running it), gassing the pigeons. pigeon holocaust. seriously. i'm not making this up. thankfully, someone suggested instead imposing a hefty fine on anyone seen feeding the birds, and posting signs about this new ordinance. and sure enough, the pigeons went away.

out of the 5 times i have been shitted on by a bird, 4 of them have been seeguls. go figure.
