its a real small(like 15 people) engineering company that appears to do lots of subcontracted work for projects that involve replacing roads and bridges here in western PA.

kind of slow start today, but i am only working 7 days before i take off for 3 weeks to go on some trips. and then after that i get to really start into the grind day in and day out

Yeah, congrats, but I've always wondered how you could afford all these trips you've taken in the course of the past few years while constantly letting it be known that you are a poor college student. I mean, I went to college too, and I barely scraped enough money together for a pack of smokes, let alone a trip to New York for the Big East Tournament, Chicago, or even Bonnaroo.

well, most of the trips have been free. at least all the basketball and most of the football ones....

but yeah, i've been really scraping the barrel the past few months. i managed to get by because i had several semesters of decent paying internships. these next couple trips will pretty much drain me to nothing until i get my first paycheck. but man, i know how to travel cheaply!

i don't build bridges

i design the foundations that make sure bridges don't fall into the water

i dont have any student loans either, so i feel pretty good about this whole thing. minus maybe my first paycheck, i should be able to stash half of every one into savings/loose spending money and get a good bit into 401k and such since i don't really have a lot to spend it on

Does anybody here know if it's feasible to work close to full-time while doing honours?

That's a sweet deal man. I'll have to buy a car and drive on your bridge.

Are they looking for test drivers for it when it's finished? I call first dibs.

what are the toilet facilities like there?

the ones at my place are pretty good

jabumbo

the facilities are pretty average. reasonably clean, but just enough so that they don't start to get gross.

i should calculate how much i am getting paid for my usual jaunt to the urinal like my friend did. i'll see how much i can suck out of em per day for me to sit on the crapper
