consisting of bacon, sausages, eggs, baked beans, hash browns, fried mushrooms, fried tomatoes, toast, plus perhaps black pudding (dried pig blood)? in ireland you get all that plus white pudding - intestines in a burger-patty shape. in scotland there's even more. i can't imagine my week / 'social-life' without the ritualistic imbibement of a full english (or flinglish if you're in a rush).

I think a lot of people in America skip breakfast or just grab a cup of coffee, but, yeah -- a lot of us like a full breakfast. Not necessarily what you listed, but yeah.

I had a full english today. I'm well sated. You missed fried bread from the list and the all important brew.

my idea of breakfast is lunch
Baked beans for breakfast......pull my finger.
^^HAHAHAHAH. I know. Man, I really hope Parkey doesn't mean beer. Baked beans + Beer sounds like a pretty volatile way to start the day, not forgetting all the other shit.

Is that everyday or just the weekends or whatever? Cuz that's a shit-ton of food.
I could really go for some fried mushrooms right about now.

I don't understand how anyone can eat that much. Is it just a tiny little bit of each thing? Cause that is a ton of food.
What does black pudding taste like? I don't think I could bring myself to eat things made of blood. I won't eat steak if it's got pink in it. Meat kinda grosses me out, so blood wouldn't work out.
I'm sure American pudding could beat out your nasty ol' blood puddings any day of the week. Snak Pak!!!

No, but the stupid bavarians eat "Weißwurst" with sweet mustard. They get all crazy if non-bavarians eat this after 11 o'clock. Poor sods try so hard to be different from the rest of Germany it's pretty embarassing sometimes...
Those Bavarians and their lederhosen. Sheesh!

Woe to the sausage guzzler who dares to bite into a sausage. He will find himself berated how this is most improper and be told to slurp it out of it's intestine, which is then to be placed on the plate and returned. All other germans eat those from all wursts.
Aren't you texans supposed to be some sort of "special people" in the US too? Or is that a side effect of your insane presidents from Texas?
Hey, Otis I am now in Virginia not Texas. I made the trek through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee and into Virginia. My stay in Texas was only a 1 and 1/2year stint so I am hardly a Texan. I always live in Red states but I spout liberal smacktalk anyway.
I am sure you were talking to cmute since all I said was pull my finger and something about lederhosen.
By the way, I like the white brats with spicy mustard......and I would eat them with baked beans for breakfast and feel good about myself.

I once had a cheese filled brat -- in MN -- and it was filled with processed cheese. Crazy cross thread conversations.
This "full breakfast" thing sounds like a hangover remedy. I enjoy a good brunch on the weekends, once is a while. Otherwise, I go for the somewhat healthy cereals.

Oh, sorry dude. I had you filed as the armadillo from Amarillo! :D I gotta read the location descriptions more often.

Oooh, Richmond. My friend's mom used to live there, she was Dean of the English department at University of Richmond and we'd visit her every so often. Nice place, there are some nice eateries downtown that I really liked. (y)
My wife is a U of R grad. I went to VCU in downtown Richmond. I have always considered Richmond home and it is good to be back in my old stomping grounds.
Now we need to sell our house in Texas. We are in temp housing which is not so bad. My wife's company is paying the bills and it is a 2 bedroom fully furnished place. We get free internet and cable TV and the complex has 2 swimming pools and a gym. I am considering it a vacation.
I will have to fly back to Texas when the move occurs. I get to be pain in the ass and watch over the movers as they pack and load our stuff. We can't wait to start house hunting here in Rcihmond.
It is good to be home. The 1,500 mile drive was interesting with a 10 month old, 3 cats and 2 cars.....but we made it.
Oh, and I find it funny that my neighbor in the apartment has tomatoes and vegetable plants growing all around her balcony. She even has Venetian blind up on the balcony. I wonder if she puts on gardening clogs when she goes out to the 7 foot by 4 foot oasis?
Thanks....it was a very nice drive. The Smoky Mountains were awesome.
The Lonestar state was great to us but my heart is on the East Coast.

this is a once or twice a week type of sojourn, often occuring in the afternoon rather than 'for breakfast'. i knew you americans would have trouble accepting the baked bean after that blasted blazing saddles film..
definitely made a mistake in omitting the cuppa. but i beg to differ with the fried bread, not everybody serves it.
all of this fits onto a 12" diameter size plate, so the portions of each element are not huge. but it has to include more than one of each of the meatier bits, bar black pudding - which, to answer another relevant question, tastes like salty, dried up pork sausage.
of course this works as a perfect hangover cure. in a bar in town you can get all this plus a bloody mary for £4.25 before 1pm.

Ha, we bought a load of those in Salzburg. My husband brought a bunch to his office and put them on the communal table along with a picture of Mozart with a speech bubble that said "Try my delicious chocolatey balls!"

no, here a full is generally eggs however you want, bacon OR sausage, homefries, and two piss (accent of the misery bag that serves it at the place I go to on Sunday mornings)toast.
I love going home though and my nana does the full Irish...same thing really.
Hate the tomatoes :vomit:, and like white pudding better than black.
any version though is the best hangover cure ever (y)
