Hey everyone:

This is Dan LeRoy, the guy who wrote the 33 1/3 book about Paul's Boutique last year. I first just want to thank, once again, Beasties fans in general and fans on these boards specifically -- the response to the book has been wonderful, one of the greatest experiences I've ever had.

So I wanted to let everyone know that the Beasties also feature prominently in my next book, which'll be out in mid-August. It's called The Greatest Music Never Sold, published by Backbeat/Hal Leonard, and it's about famous unreleased albums. There are great lost albums by David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Ray Davies, Beck, Seal, Juliana Hatfield, and the Jungle Brothers, among others, included.

There is also a Beasties chapter in the book, which deals not only with the legendary Country Mike, but the legendary White House album too. I talked to Yauch and Mike D -- who were extremely nice and helpful -- as well as Chuck D, the great Mario C, and some other folks, and hopefully got as much of the story on both albums as is likely to be gotten.

(For hardcore fans, there's also some pretty rare interview material with Matt Dike, one of the driving forces behind Paul's Boutique. You'll never guess what famous unreleased album he almost contributed to...)

If anyone's interested, here's the Amazon link:

I'll also have some copies to sell after publication, and will happily sign 'em for anyone who buys one. You can PM me around the end of next month -- I'll post when I get my copies.

Anyway, hope everyone's having a great summer, and thank you all again for your support and kind words -- they're much appreciated!
