It's a free magazine in Perth. I can't find an online version of the interview, but I'll transcribe the best parts when I can be arsed.

It's with Mike D and Adrock. Mike talks about how the new album is something they could see people using for sampling material, Adrock then adds it's basically testing whether or not the fans are with them. Further on it touches on how CYH was originally going to be like TMU but wound up sounding rockier than they anticipated, with the hip-hop songs as well, obviously. Mike then adds that ultimately he can just see them becoming a funk band.

The interesting part is a small statement that they've started work on the new album, and it'll have "lots of talking" on it. I'm loathe to fully believe this, as it could just be a misinterpretation. I will say it seems to be a very earnest interview, that also has them remarking on how they're playing their older hip-hop material in a band arrangement. I'd put the date of the interview to just prior to Montreux (as that's what it says).

Anyway, just sharing.

Interesting...especially the "lots of talking bit" if they were indeed serious.

Thanks for sharing.

I think they are in a groove right now and we'll see another album in late '09.

I mean, most likely this interview is given to the Australian press to use en masse. Still, it seemed disarmingly like the band were speaking the truth for once. Again, I'll transcribe eventually.

Thanks for sharing the good news...I thought one of their purposes for The Mix-Up was to be used for sampling material in the future

By "lots of talking" do they mean rapping, or spoken-word poetry type ish I wonder
