PROM

So if you're my friend on myspace I'm sure you've seen my posts aboot the prom this weekend (sorry if they are annoying it's just the only way to get in touch with everyone really).

I'm having a "retro prom" for a bday party and I've got a bunch of cool shit going on, was wondering if you guys have any additional suggestions?

So far I've got -

-the essential pink streamers, balloons, etc.
-an amazing "magic castle" backdrop to take prom photos in front of (based on this (http://www.backdrops.net/images/100%20Fantasy%20Castle%20%2012'x36'.jpg) picture)
-a three-tiered electric punch bowl for spiked punch
-a polaroid camera for said prom photos
-a gigantic playlist with tons of songs including some slow ones (I have this awesome vision of everyone drunk and slow dancing together)

We are also going to have

-boxes of wine
-a car pulled up by the front that has beer in the trunk (drinking before you go to prom)
-christmas lights put up around the walls/outside
-and (if I have enough money) I might get some flowers and make quick corsages for people
-maybe prom king and queen, but I'm going to see what the vibe of the party is

I can't find a disco ball but you can do a homemade one. Though I don't know how to get some lights that will shine directly on it. That would be the topper methinks.

Any additional thoughts/suggestions?

if you don't have money for real flowers for the corsages you could make them from tissue paper...or the left over streamers. paper flowers would be classy. hah ha

You know, we used to have a spotlight to shine on people who were "dirty dancing" during middle school. And the DJ would get on the loudspeaker and be really embarrassing to the both of them.

A lot of the time, people didn't care though. They just laughed and kept at it, happy to be the center of attention. Then pissed-off teachers would go break them up.

Remy, I thought about buying condoms at like the dollar store but then I fgured I didn't want to be responsible for any inseminations that might occur as a result.

The nuts and bolts thing is awesome! I don't think I have the resources for that sadly, plus everyone will be drunk as fuck and it will result in them all over the floor I'm sure.

I just secured a disco ball for this thing. I am so fucking excited!
