Cause being that my wife is asian and if I were to have some redneck mentality of eating, I'd starve.

I let her pick the groceries when we go shopping cause she knows what's healthy and what can keep the fat off. Even though I've acquired some weight due to beer and all..

I open the fridge, look around to find bok choy, nappa, some noodles, tofu, real thin sliced pork, chicken, assorted chinese spices (usually paste based) and a dog... JUST KIDDING. SHE GONNA KICK MY ASS WHEN SHE READS THIS, HAHAHA!

But without haste and standing at the fridge scratching my ass deciding what the hell I'm going to do with all this stuff, I just go to work and make some fine asian style foods.

I mainly make noodle soups, combining the cabbages and what not but I make some stuff that even makes her tell me that I should open a restaurant.

So how do you guys go grocery shopping? T.V dinners? Frozen pizza? I know Nastee, Milenson (yep, I spelled it wrong BTW Where the hell have ya been?) and the rest of ya'll in the what's for tea thread make some monsterous concoctions.

I don't go buy recipes. I just go by adding and sipping to taste perfection.

*ahem* (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=80628)

if i get the chance, i love to go to a farmer's market. i see what's in season and looks fresh, and build a meal around that. otherwise i decide what i want to make for the week, and shop accordingly. i grocery shop several times a week, in order to get fresh fruits and veggies when i need them. i'll grab maybe some tempeh and tofu as a base to a meal, and i'll always have certain things on hand (canned tomatoes and beans, spices, rice, soups, broth, etc.) to work with. most of my best recipes have come from experimentation.

Oh sweet mother of all enchallidas, I'm glad that I haven't been toking the green goddess when I opened that up. That shit right there is pure aphrodisiac to the belly. Whew. Sorry I missed that post.

I'm sure there's a farmer's market in this area. I'll have to check it out. We mainly go shopping in Flushing, /Chinese markets here. Alot of streetside stores with fruits and veges. I really don't eat much fruits, I'm a vegetable guy. I'm not too fond of sweetness.

I'm doing a mule kick on my own ass cause now that you've posted here, I remember the splendid tofu scramble that you've created and posted. Man, you and Boomin, the wife and I need to get together to have a freakin health feast.

Afterwards, me and Boomin will play guitars to burn off the energy(y)

i'm horrible at grocery shopping. most days i'll be home going "oh man i have no food, i gotta go shopping"

then i'll go the grocery store, spend about $40, come home, unpack all my groceries and say "right...i still don't have anything to eat tonight"

i dunno how i manage to do that

I'm same as Bob, basically.

I get a lot of overpriced instant microwaveable stuff too. Dorm living makes cooking too much of a hassle, as much as I love to cook, I really don't have the tools and it's a lot of trouble. I have to drag everything to the "kitchen" in the dorm lounge, hope no one else is there, have no space to make anything drag it all back to my room to eat, and wash dishes in the bathroom sink. I eat out a lot too, much more than I should, just out of laziness.

I really love cooking, and if I had my own place and the proper supplies, I'd cook all the time. Living in a dorm just really ruins it for me.
