It's been a long time, but I've had mushrooms quite a few times. Liked it. Really nice, never any raped-by-chemicals sort of feeling like I would sometimes get from acid.

On the expensive side of affordable, I always thought. Certainly not prohibitive.

Surely I have told my 'shroom' story here before about the time me and this guy Sam did shrooms, then got the brilliant idea to jump on the slow freight train that ran on the track behind his house like hobos? And then got all freaked out because we thought we'd been on the train for hours, and must be hundreds of miles from home? Then had to hike across a junkyard full of scary stray dogs until we could find a phone to call his roomate and beg him to come get us? Only to find out that we'd actually only been on the train for about 20 minutes, and were in like the next town over?

Done a few times....here you just have to drive an hour or two to go to some places where you can find them growing in pastures and just pick them up. Tons of fun, but I always took small quantities compared to other people I know, so I might not have experienced the whole thing. I had tons of weird and funny physical, sonic and visual sensations but luckily never anything that I couldn't handle. :o

For all you mushrooms-in-the-wild folks, let me just say be really really careful.

Even people who study mushrooms screw up. We wound up not long ago with almost
an entire family hospitalized and a couple of them died (if I remember right).

Wild mushrooms are some people's hobby, I know, but you can also really fuck up.

I don't think any high is worth it, but it's your call.

meh...I know people who have died by mistakenly picking the wrong type of mushroom in the wild. I think that's a pretty bad idea.

they aren't hard to grow. at all.

howeva....if you get caught in the US with enough mushrooms to be labled as "intent to distribute" the penalties are mighty hefty. way worse than ganja.

I got one tracer one time after doing four hits of good acid. I just could never hallucinate on that stuff, no matter how much I did it/how many times.

Mushrooms, though, things would get kind of mellow/vivid and warm/melty. Pretty reliably, but not always. But it was a real nice buzz.

The thing about acid, though -- the thing I read -- was that, the next morning, even if I didn't feel great, I felt great because it was like NOW anything's possible. It was like a new day, all kinds of gunk was gone from the brain's wiring. No idea if that effect has a name or if that was just me, but I liked it.

I dunno if it's the same as what you mean, but I never tripped out fully on acid, I just felt confident like never before. Like I had myself figured out, and was certain of everything I said and did. And that effect lasted for days to less intense degrees.

Fortunately one of my friends studied biology and he was an expert in mushrooms, but of course it's always dangerous to pick up shrooms and eat them without knowledge. Here you can bring them to an office which will check them out, but of course you can't bring them your basket full of psilos :rolleyes: penalties are really hefty here too.
