I reckon it's a good time to be into BB. We had to wait 6 years for them to drop TT5B, since then, it seems they have been non stop working, making up for lost time I guess. I wonder what would have happened if Mike D hadn't have broken his arm? Makes ya wonder what direction they would have gone. With TMU just out, talk of a guest album coming soon, and Adrock coming out and saying they will start work on a new BB cd in October, things are looking good!! I know some people were pissed about TMU because of no vocals, but in the grand scheme of things, it just adds to the great BB collection...something different. With TMU not being promoted like previous albums, it does seem like it wasn't intended for your average listener, more of a " let's put it out, do the shows, and see what happens " I've always said, TMU will in time be a classic. Just like fine wine..it needs time to mature.

i like that they're playing as a band, and not a just hip-hop act. jumping between styles again makes me think of how great it would have been to see them circa 84 when they just started doing that. finally, it makes sense.

and that they're doing great things with their gala setlists. and that they've released the most fan-challenging album of their career, and it's not too shabby. and also that there's no singles. i think tmu will be a classic era, if it leads to more. the album itself i've come to really dig, but it's always going to be background music, even in 10 years. that's not necessarily a negative.

it is a good time.(y)(y)(y)(y)

Word! (I would quote Kid Presentable cause he's telling it like it is too, but I thought I'd save some space)

It's a damn good time - this is a nice thread - I've been thinking exactly the same myself

I always like the fact that the boys do something different with thier stuff

I'm a big Hip Hop fan but for the last few years have really been digging on instrumental funk, psych, jazz and the sort of stuff that got labelled 'trip-hop' and then as if by magic my favourite artists drop a wicked instrumental album that I would be enjoying even if Meatloaf had released it (well, probably? - you know what I mean) - Just good music - no subject matter, no agenda, no politics, no dogma - just vibes!

It's (always) a great time to be a Beastie Boys fan - celebrate and spread love!:)(y)
