Beasties mentioned on Stern again today

im surprised that no one had mentioned this but Russle Simmons was on his show today and he mentioned the beasties. he actually didnt say anything bad this time.

then, Sal the Stockbroker dissed him in the hallway. Everyone got pissed at him for disrespecting a legend. later on during the wrap up show, we found out why:

"Im a huge fan of the beastie boys".

nope, he was long gone by then....i remember getting info from him for alt.music.beastieboys way back when...'94 was a cool summer....my first foray into the internet. Sal would posts lots of Beastie trivia on prodigy.....the big thing back then was naming everyone on the back cover of Ill Communication. It was from him that I learned the Beastie Boys had a song with the line "white b-boys we don't regret, there's nothing wrong with your tv set".....I want to say he was in his late 20's or about 30 back then. I was 17 at the time. There were a lot of regulars on that board and the AOL one. wow, where are they now? This was back when you would send each other VHS tapes to add to your collection of Beastie concerts.

I just watched the episode on Howard TV and it was fucking hilarious. Sal refers to himself as "the white devil" to Russel Simmons in the green room and the whole cast flips out. Then they all break his balls about being retarded for pronouncing Pauls Boutique as "Pauls BO-TEEK". Great shit.
