now aren't you glad you just paid a buck 25 for a plastic bottle and a fancy label?
NEW YORK (Reuters) - PepsiCo Inc. will spell out that its Aquafina bottled water is made with tap water, a concession to the growing environmental and political opposition to the bottled water industry.
According to Corporate Accountability International, a U.S. watchdog group, the world's No. 2 beverage company will include the words "Public Water Source" on Aquafina labels.
"If this helps clarify the fact that the water originates from public sources, then it's a reasonable thing to do," said Michelle Naughton, a Pepsi-Cola North America spokeswoman.

Aquafina always tasted like ass. I don't know why, but it didn't taste like "pure water" it had a weird tangy taste to it. Other bottled waters not so much.
But I'm not surprised. Most bottled waters are just filtered tap water, they don't exactly have a factory sitting on top of a pure mountain spring.

exactly. I've always known that bottled water is not as prestine as some people seem to think (or as the bottled water companies would like to LET you think). logic tells a person that something mass produced in this way is unlikely to actually be straight from a clear mountain stream.
but I still think this is funny that they have to print on the labels that it's only tap water.

im guessing it's not just tap water. they will obviously have to filter and process it so that it's legal to put on shelves.

uhhh...tap water has to be processes and filtered to some degree when it come out our foccets too.;) but sure they likely filter it a bit more...unfortunately though I don't beleive they are actually required to do so.

aquafina tastes like crap. I'd rather drink water straight from the faucet.
I do like ice mountain though. I think they put a special chemical in there to make it taste like mountains.

I hate the taste of tap water, I think around here it's extra chemically, hard water or something. But I don't have a sink so I can't buy a water filter thingy. So bottled water is the way to go. Aquafina does taste like poo. I remember there being a brand that I really like how it tastes, but I don't remember what it was. I seem to remember Deer Park tasting like poo, too. I don't often buy water. Only when I get on one of my trying to be healthy kicks that lasts about a week, and then I buy whichever bottled water packs are on sale.

My tap water tastes just fine.
The problem with almost all of the bottled waters is the plastic taste. I can drink water out of glass bottles, but I don't care for plastic bottles. The taste is particularly nasty if you leave the bottle in the care on a warm day.
They should stop selling bottled water just for the sake of the environment. That's the only thing I learned from Live Earth.

I bet all these water companies are going with the flavored "vitamin infused" waters to cover up the fact their water is just plain tap water

If I'm not mistaken, both aquafina and dasani use a reverse osmosis filtration system, which is a rather efficient and effective purification system. Again, not that there was anything really likely so wrong with the tap water in the first place, but it's not as though they are running some sort of scam - when you pay for that bottle of water, you are really just paying for the convenience of having that bottle available to you. I'm not really sure why this has made the news, tbh.

It's as simple as paying attention to what you buy. I've always noticed that some brands have "Purified Water" on the label and others will have "Spring Water". I guess it should be self explanitory.
