What's everyone doing?

Me, nothing tonight apart from a Heroes marathon. Going to have some tuna fishcakes with pak choi and baby corn for dinner. Yummy.
Tomorrow, off to see Prince at the 02
Sunday, gym and sleep.

I think I'll finish packing up all my small items from my room... and then I've been invited to a party this Saturday which I plan on going to. I guess that's really about it... I need to make sure all my stuff is in order for my move.

I even wrote a note to myself, insisting that I clean this weekend. The kitchen floor needs some scrubbing, I've noticed.

Saturday: work out, some cleaning, see The Bourne Ultiminiuousness, paint

Sunday: church, some shopping, more cleaning, and I really really really need to remember to pick up a birthday card.

Going to a little town in northern utah to see my dad's triathalon. We were too late to get a camping spot so we're in a hotel which sucks, I wanted to camp.

Saturday night someone is having some big party for some like giant plexiglass Jellyfish that they're taking to burning man? It's called the Jellyfish from the year 12000 or something. I don't know. Hippies. I think it's 10 bucks so I probably won't end up going.

Sunday I am soooo excited for. We are watching cult British comedy and getting stoned. YESSSS. Two episodes each or more of Darkplace, Snuff Box, and the Boosh. My friend and I keep watching them and being like "FUCK WHY ARE WE NOT HIGH" so it should be awesome.

Tonight - Going to meet some family that are flying in from Italy for my Grandma's 80th birfday. After that I'm going home to pass the fuck out since I'm trying to function on 2 hours of sleep.

Tomorrow - Wake up late. go see the Simpsons movie. Go back home. Move some furniture around. Possibly hit up some putt putt.

Sunday - Go to my parents for lunch...my in-laws for dinner...my brosef's for hanging out. Then home for John from Cincinnati, Entourage, and Flight of the Concords. Then Sleep.

Pretty boring now that I think about it.

...just curious how you manage in a situation like this. I'm assuming the party is around the pig?

I know that in a lot of settings, people with different dietary concerns probably have a pocketful of tricks and preparations and responses etc. that they can use; going to a party that is unabashedly about meat consumption seems like it'd be a challenge.

Also: any moral qualms?

Congrats on the stereo, by the way. :D

kick ass. my friend's family has the ole spitfire roast pig every year...and they used to have a pet pig living there (he moved with my friend last year). It was funny the first time someone said "Hey, where is Norman, thats not him we are about to eat is it?" But after everyone said it and thought they were the first one that said it, it made me want to be vomit.

well he had a similar sort of thing for his 18th last year and by the time we got there the beast was already cooked. who knows, he's prolly already started cooking it by now. everyone just has some pig and it sits in the cooker thing kept nice and hot if anyone wants more later on

i cant wait, his invite said 'Some alcohol provided' which usually means you'll be lucky to get one beer, but with him it means everyone will need to have there stomach pumped by 1am :D

and i cant wait for this stereo to finally be installed. this is twice as much as my last one and i swear that did some permanent damage to my hearing. just gotta go get a new battery and a big ass capacitor in the morning. 2500 watts RMS baby!!! :D

it's not too bad, i had 2 12 inch subs in the boot of my lancer when i had that beast but now i have a 2 ton SUV with no boot so i have to have more power to get the same result. plus it's cool to say i've got 4 subs in my car :D

plus i can jokingly use sleazy lines like ' hey baby, wanna hop in the back seat of my car and feel the power of 12 inches thrusting into you? ' ;)

on the plus side tho my car uses 9mpg which is fucking ridiculous for any car in australia so it's not like i'll be driving it around too much like i did in my lancer

Saturday and Sunday I'll be working at the garden center, they called me yesterday if I could jump in as somebody's gotten ill. As I'll be needing some funds for some travelling in four weeks time I accepted...

oh yeah, and for the weekend:

friday:
drive to cleveland with some dirty boys. transpose a couple of Art Brut songs for the "choir" I'm in (we are opening for them, yay! famous!) in the car. Arby's. meet my dude's parents. :(

saturday:
my friend's wedding. I will know about 20 people there and I'll get to see my stupid jerk friends that moved to L.A. a couple of years ago. I'm predicting epic debauchery. and I'm excited to see dude in his tailored suit. handsome!

sunday:
recover. drive back to chick a go.

Sunday: No 'Ava 6am alarm call' so going to laze in bed all morning! No other plans made for Sunday yet.

What's the longest run you've done?

Concurrently, mine's four in three days. But there was another play in college that got invited to festival, so it was four in three days,
then one performance months later.

I sucked in that one. (n)

The sad thing is that it is not the festival. We are just hanging out. I would be more excited if it was during the cherry blossum festival. Ooops! I just looked it up. Saturday is the beginning of the fest.

tonight: clean room :/ cook dinner, socialise with landlords (yes, really = flatmate's parents) in an obvious attempt to be offered lots of the wine they bring with them.

saturday: go to a pub with a friend to watch him watch the rangers/celtic match. then might be going to an actual football match between two pretty crappy teams purely so i can eat a steak pie outside. then going for dinner somewhere asian/out for drinks. may go to a tings tings gig if it is actually this weekend and i'm not getting my dates mixed up.

sunday: in the AM he is taking me for breakfast and the cinema for a super early showing of the golden compass because we are huge his dark materials fans and neither of us have seen it yet. not anticipating it to be super fantastic, but eh. then i have to go to work in the library for four hours in the afternoon. after work i'll check out the botanical gardens because i haven't been in an age.
