is someone allowed to not rent a house to someone because they are an unmarried couple, or to rent to one of them on the condition that the other isn't allowed to ever spend the night?

Are you talking from a landlord's p.o.v.? I'm under the impression they can rent (or not rent) out their place to anyone they like. If they outright refuse on the basis of discrimination (don't know if "unmarried couple" falls under that), I imagine that might be a different case. Is there a Landlord and Tenant Act you can refer to that would say that?

Thats rediculous. Good luck to her for finding a tenant that ISN'T living in sin in one way or another. Stupid lady. Religion will be the death of mankind.

find a different place. Even if it is illegal, you'll have a dickbag landlord to worry about.

generally, anytime a landlord says anything obnoxious in the first five minutes of discussing a place...I write them off. Thus far its proved well.
