Dear Beasties,

Apparently your record company is forcing photographers to sign away the rights to their photographs at concerts.

This is a great way for the record companies to get free photos of their acts without paying for them. It's not so good for the photographers, who don't get compensated for their work.

These aren't rich photographers who can afford to give away their images. They're guys struggling to survive in a business that's getting worse every day.

Guys, I know you guys respect Bruce Davidson (his photo is on the cover of Ill Communication) and have his number. You should ask him how the photo business is these days and why he’s not shooting for Esquire any more.

I don't know why they don't come up with a photographer's brace sort of like harmonica racks. A tripod can be a real hassle sometimes.
