CENTRAL PARK SUMMER STAGE SHOW- What time on 8/8? Different reports...anyone?

My tickets say: 5:30PM

The summerstage site says: 7-10PM

Ticketmaster says: 5:30PM

Then another summerstage site said: 8-10PM

I have tickets- I know it says 5:30PM- and I am going to be there as soon as I possibly can negotiating an early leave from work. If it's at 5:30PM though I'll have to use more negotiation force than if it's at 7PM.

You get?

Is someone opening for them?

Anyone?

show starts at 7...
and i believe the beasties go on at 8.

now i have no idea if they have an opening act.

I've never been to a show there, so I don't know what it's like. I will show up hours before 5:30 to ensure I am in the front if I have to, but if nobody's getting in til 5:30 I'll spare myself the wait. Getting there hours in advance- good idea or pointless?
