Why would anyone care if Rush Hour 3 is "A Brett Ratner Film"?

Who the fuck is Brett Ratner? And why should the trailers and posters and billboards and whatnot for his latest film boldly inform me he made it? Does anybody out there really think that someones gonna go "Well, I don't know who Chris Tucker or Jackie Chan are or the Rush Hour films are about, but hey BRETT RATNER directed, im gonna check that shit out"

Feelin lazy but I think he also did The Fast and the Furious, then again I could be wrong and I don't feel like checking it up on imdb.com....

I guess to boost the film a little more. I normally watch movies because of the story not because it has a certain actor or director though they're are a few exceptions, like Hitchcock......

I heard of the name Ratner but he's definitely doesn't fall into the category of ooh let's go see that movie because it's made by him...lol.
